Efteland To Wed
In South Saturday
Miss Julia Richards, daughter of
Mr. S- E. Richards of Alameda. Cal.,
will soon be welcomed to Mcdford
aoclety as Mrs. Edward Efteland. Mr,
Efteland left this morning for Ber
keley, where he and Miss Richards
are to be married Saturday. Miss
Richards Is a former Portland girl.
The ceremony Is to be solemnised
at the bride's home at 3:30 o'clock
Saturday afternoon. Attending the
bride will be Mlas Thelma Reavls of
Alameda, while Harold Relchsteln, of
this city, accompanied Mr. Efteland
south today' and will act as best man,
Mrs, Reichateln Is already In the bay
district, having been vacationing
there.
The bride and groom will return to
Medford early next week after a short
wedding trip up the Redwood high'
way. They will be at home to Med
ford friends at 26 South Orange
street.
Mr. Efteland, who has resided here
for the past year and a half, has made
many friends who aro Interested In
the coming wedding. He Is the son of
Mr. and Mrs. J. Efteland of Portland,
Ma former home.

In view of national Parent-Teacher
week October 11 to Ootobor 17, local

priate observance. In this connection

To Mexlro City,
Among those planning autumn va-
catlona Is Miss Myrta otterdsle: Who
left today on a vacation trip which la
to take her to Mexico City. Her first
destination Is San Francisco, from
whero Bhe will sail Saturday on the

Miss Otterdale will disembark at
Acapuloo, Mexico, continuing to the
Mexican capltol from there by Inland
route, She plans visits to numerous
points of scenic and historical Interest
In and around Mexico City and wilt
visit several other cities.
Bhe will return by rail via the west
coast route after a stay of about a
month.

the Junior high Parent-Teacher as
sociation, haa announced a meeting
of all offlcera and committee chair
men at the school tomorrow after
noon at 1 o'clock. Feature of the
meeting will be a discussion of plans

for the Ashland precincts have been

County Clerk Carter estimates 1000
new voters registered in the county
this yoar, and total registration close
to the 20.000 mark. Miny of tue new
voters hail from Noth Dakota, South
Dakota, Kansas, Nebraska, Oklaboma,
and Arkansas. The last n&ued state,
has so. far shown rhe tartest number
of former residents, a large number
of registrants also formerly lived In
Josephine county.

PASSES, AGED 77
Mary Huffman, who has been visit
ing here for the past five weeks,
passed away at a local hospital this
morning at the age of 74 years.
Mrs. Huffman's home was In Oak
land, Cal, During her stay In Med
ford she was the gueat of her step
daughter, Emma A. Bunn. Another
step-daughter, Mrs. Arthur Fine), re
sides at Alturas, Cal. She also leaves
a number of nephews and nlecea.
The body was romoved to the Con
ger funeral parlora and will be for-
wardod to Alameda, Cal., this even
ing where services will be held.
