(Associated Press Photo) OPENING NEXT MONDAY FILL STAFF T SYDNEY, Australia (UP) Rub ber roads may succeed the necessity of rubber tires as the result of ex periments now being carried out in Queensland, The rubber being used Is sent from Papua, New Guinea. To date. It has proven too costly for general road use, but new ex periments are now being made. If they prove successful, rubber roads will be extended to other parts of Australia. TAKE SLIGHT SLUMP PORTLAND, Ore., Sept. 11. (AP) Reports from 115 mills showed last week's new business at 68,714.000 feet of lumber was 3 per cent below the previous week's mark, the Western Pine association said today. Production was 81.438,000 feet, ap proximately the same as the week be fore, and shipment totaled 60,173.000 a slight gain. Orders, production and shipments exceeded totals for the cor responding week in 1035. To date, orders were reported IB per cent ahead of last year's mark. JACKSONVILLE. Sept. 11.
