J. Kendell of Stanfleld, and Malcolm LundT Jones, eon of the Rev. and Mra. 8. H. Jonea of Jacksonville. The rites were performed Wednesday eve. nlng, August IB, at 8 o'clock. In the Prist Presbyterian church 01 saiem, with the bridegroom's father official inc. After the ceremony the couple left Immediately by motor for a wedding trip. Upon their return to the cap! tal they will be at home at 1340 Chemeketa street. Mlas Kendell attended Willamette university and Is a member of Theta Chi. Mr. Jones was graduated from Willamette this spring and Is now a student at Willamette law school. He Is affiliated with Alpha Psl Delta and Delta Theta Phi. He wll! continue Ills law studies this fall. The groom's father, Rev. 8. H. Jones, Is pastor of the Presbyterian church at Jacksonville. He and Mrs. Jones are vacationing at Lebanon. M Mra. Wlllett Ends Vacation Mrs. Rosa Blackmore Wlllett has returned to her home on the Bouth Pacific highway after spending a va cation of three weeks In tho Kea woods of northern California, making her headquarters at Crescent City. ha hss re-ooened her studio and resumed her mualo teaching. Miss Hnmong Returns From Trip Miss Georglana Hussong returned this week from a fortnight vacation In southern California and Old Mex ico. Missionary Group Holds Big Meet The Women's Missionary society of the Presbyterian church gave their annual lawn party Tuesday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Waltor Prazer Brown. Over 60 members and guests were In attendance, and re ported a splendid evening. Miss Laura Bailey, vice president, presided over the brief business ses sion when plana were discussed and committees appointed for the coming state synodlcal which meets In Med ford October Jo. 16 and 17. with rver 100 delegates to be here. Speakers from the national and foreign boards will be In attendance, it was stated. The program for the evening was prosentod by members of the Young People's society of the ohurch, prj. sontlng reports and subjects dis cussed at their recent conference at Plr Point, near Olendale. Youth and Worship was ably presented by Miss Bditn nodgxins; Making Missions Live In Our Own Church was Inter estingly told by Miss Bernlce Baker. Miss Hnlda Hose told in a most Im pressive manner of the closing vesper hour service at the conference on Sunday evening. A flute solo by Arthur Clark was well received. Mrs. Sherman L. Di vine led a brief dlsousalon on co operation of both the younger and older members of the church In ad vancing Its many activities during the coming year. It was stated following the meeting that It was one of the moat success ful, helpful and Interesting "group gatherings held In some time, and other union meetings of the two groups are to be given during the coming year. Pythian Club Activity Told The first August meeting of the Pythian club was enjoyed on August 9. as guests of Mrs. Catherln fisher st Union Creek resort. The after noon waa spent in hiking and visit. The remainder of the evening was spent playing carda with prizes going to Mrs. Edna Nixon and Mr. Miller for high score, and to Mrs. J. T. Clarkson Guests Leaving Here ffonn Mrs. William Clarkson and family have been entertaining welcome guests nt their home the past few months. In the persons of Mrs. Joe Clsrkson and daughter Jean, of Hot Springs, Arkansaa, who arrived In July. The guests expect to leave for their home Monday, accompanied by Mr. Clnrkson who arrived two weeks ago. The Clarksons have been enter tained by many friends during their stay here. They left for Beverly Hills Thursday morning, intending to return by way of Cres cent City and the coast highway. Mrs. Erb'a brother and slster-ln- law, Mr. and Mrs. Leland P.
