In the principal supporting role,
that of a hard-boiled, two-fisted
captain of coast-wise stesmer.
A gay and gusty story of hale and
lusty days, the film shows the blonde
star as the "Frisco Doll," shipping
out of San Francisco sboard McLag-
len's boat and making her way to
Alaska, where tall tales of newly
found riches bring visions of wealth
and "suckers." There she skips
through a series of exciting and
amusing compllcatlona before she
decides to take the tough sea cap
tain for better or worse.
Interspersed through the film the
star sings several new song numbers.

MILWAUKEE, Wis., March 21
(UP) Heywood Broun, columntst and
president of the American Newspaper
guild, and five others were put Into
Jail today after a scuffle with police
In front of the Wisconsin News, where
editorial workers have. been on strike
five weeks.
Broun was charged with disorderly
conduct and resisting an officer. Two
strikers and three sympathizers were
arrested on the first charge.
After guild and labor union mem
bers had raised $345 to ball out five
of those arrested, Broun fished In
hit baggy trousers end produced 9135
bond for his own release. He refused
to leave Jail until the others were
released. ' '

A move to force a house caucus of

President Roosevelt's plan for closing
hundreds of CCC camps April l waa
held up suddenly today "pending fur
ther developments."
Chairman Nichols (D., Okls.) of
the bloc revolting a gainst the presi
dent's order withdrew a caicus peti
tion signed by 84 representatives.
"The responsibility for this step Is
all mine." Nlchola said. "I decided
to hold it up pending further devel
opments that may enable us to ob
tain our objective of keeping the
present number of CCC camps with
out calling a caucus."
Under the petition Chairman Tay
lor (D, Colo.) of the cattcus would
have been compelled to order the
meeting Tuesday.
Nlchola Indicated a special com
mittee would go ahead drafting legis
lation to authorize an appropriation
to continue the camps another year.'

The Klamath county court named a
citizens' committee to make an In
vestigation of the county health unit.
Dr. Frederick Strieker, state health
officer, recently suggested the Klam
ath unit adopt a unified program
with federal aid.

LANDS IN DITCH
Trevor B. Hare of Central Point
missed the two klda on bicycles, but
landed In a pretty kettle of fish
himself, he told city police yester
day. Driving south toward this city
Hutu had Just reached the turn
near where Court street Intersects
the Pacific highway at the north
city limits, when two boys on bicy
cles rode In front of him, Hart told
police.
Swinging hard In an effort to miss
the two boys, he shot across the
highway to the left, narrowly missed
a concrete Irrigation ditch pylon,
took off over the edge of the ditch
and landed smnck in about a foot
of water at tha bottom of the canal.
The drop was one of about eight
feet, and the Impact broke two of
the wheels sheer awsy from tha
spokes, and scattered mud In a wide
arc. Hare was not hurt. A runway
of planks and a truck hitched In
front aided In retrieving tha sea
going auto after new wheels had
been attached. Twelve kids on bi
cycles watched the rescue proceedings.
