Odds are even In this classic, with Hollis holding the nod over Chick In Medford and Chick having spun Hollis to the very brink of the never-never land In Klamath Falls, on an earlier occasion. Hollis, who had to have extra time to conva lesce from the ex-cowpuncher'e own version of he brain frappe, believes that he la cagey and fast enough to keep out of that spin tonight, and freely admits that Chick Is In for the thrashing of his eight-year career. Chick, himself, asked for the re. turn bout, saying that he wanted to meet Hollis on the Medlord mai. the scene of the lone Hollis victory. If I can't get him In a spin, I have a few other holds which won't do him any good, but I'm going to use the spin If . I get any kind or chance." Karaslck declares him self to be In the .best condition In years, following a vacation In the southwest. While basking In the win ter sun there, the Lion added a few touches to his already phenomenal and back-breaking crab hold, and intimated today that he Intends re lying on that hold and his lung de flating bear hug tonight. Wilson, who has taken all his matches here with his Jolting fly ing tackle, will rely on that efflc. lent weapon tonight "of course, he aald today, but branded as "fool Ish" the Impression that the tackle Is sll he has. "I've licked plenty or. good men and I don't hsve to tackle but ot course I use the tackle when I have to." A csnvass of wrestl ing fans indicates that he will prob ably have to unwrap the line buck ing tonight If he hopes to eliminate the wily Cossack. The opening battle, featuring the ex-gob, Mike Caddock of Honolulu, and Stanley Rogers, lean and leath ery Texan, will be a rough one If Caddock's pre-encounter predictions prove true. Caddock has promised to eliminate the Texan In the first Tound of their Austrsllan system bout. In esrller appearances here Rogers meekly took the pummeilng ot Ted Christy for two rounds and then slapped that meanle to the canvas to end the fight, while Cad dock worried Chirk all evening with underhanded methods. The opening bout starts promptly at 8:30. There la to be no raise In priors. Johnson's Heave Is Outdistanced BOI8K. Idaho. March . The basketball players who repre sented Myrtle Creek high school in the SONS lnvltatlcnal B tournament in Ashland would do credit to any Class A school in the state. Tall, rangy and fast men, all of them, they played with a cold determina tion which took the fancy of the big crowd which watched the final bat tle Saturday night with Malln, more so than has any finalist team In the history of the tournament, . During the course of the sea son Myrtle Creek took Grants Pass high school In stride, and Grants Pass was the only league team that could manage to dump the Ashland Grizzlies. One thing highly noticeable about Myrtle Creek's playing was their de termination to shcot every time they got their dukes on the ball. If a man was standing close, they Just raised their sights and shot over him, with surprising accuracy. Bor rowing the enemy tactics, Malln did the same thing and the resulting barrage of basketball In the air made It look as though each team had a ball of their own. The game was one cf the best we'd seen alt year. An estimated crowd of 1000 persona watched the battle. Most of that crowd was howl ing wildly for Myrtle Creek. Sim ple deduction shows that not many of that number were from the little town north of Grants Pass sin re there aren't that many people In the place. The free hearted yelling puzzled us at first, but tournament officials ex plained that the ones doing most of the howling were the victims of Myrtle Creek doring the regular session and wanted their own conquerors to go on and take the serlee In a clean sweep. It would be asking a little too much to eipect them to take that series ss well as the one Just finished in Ashland, and they wen't do It. But they wilt get past their first en counter and possibly Into the quar ter finals. ' One of the reasons they won't get to the finals Is the very good one that they tangle with Bellfountaln early In the bracket. The little vil lage In Benton county, about half way between Corvallis and Eugene Is one cf those practically unheard of places which spring imo in limelight about every 300 years wim an almost unbeatable combination. It happens quite frequently, but sel dom In the same place twice. All they need Is five good men( since the loss from Injury Is practically neslitclble) and a determination to make more baskets than the other pj team. Fineness Is generally enureiy lacking, as It was frrm the startling Centre college foothrUl team of a few years ago. but fineness Is of no value whatever If points aren't made with It.
