lovely brunette coloring of the bride.
The gown displayed touches of rose
point lace and pearls as trimming
with a cap of old rose point duchess
lace and orange blossoms catching up
the veil. She carried a half shower
bouquet of white sweetpeas, gar
denias and lilies of the valley.
Miss Harriet Sparrow, sister of the
bride, was maid of honor, and wore
psle blue taffeta with a matching
Juliet cap and blue slippers. Her half
ahower bouquet was ox pirut snap
dragons.
The gowar of Miss Marlon Rankin
brldesmHld, was Identical with that
of the maid of honor, differing only
in color, which was pink.
Mrs. Alex Sparrow, mother of the
bride, wore blue Jlnja crepe and a
gardenia corsage, while Mrs. Albert
Lee Wlthlngton, the bride's grand
mother, was gowned in black satin
and wore a violet corsage.
-Black lace and gardenias were worn
by Mrs. Grace Firth, of San Francisco
mother of the groom.

were all u. white, traditional theme
for weddings, Easter lilies, carnations.

After the oeremony, the bride and
groom received their friends at a
small reception at Klrkland Farm,

pink, blue end white formed a
charming setting for the bridal party.

Miss Sparrow attended Katharine
Branson's school at Ross, Calif., and
Mr. Firth Is a graduate of Stanford
university. The couple have been
much entertained at pre-nuptial af
fairs during recent weeks, their wed.

ford Civilian Conservation Corps dls-1

The monthly dances arranged by
the club are no-host affairs, with
formal attire predominating among
the guests. Invitations are issued to
all retired officers of the national
guard, reserve officers, technical
agency personnel, member of the
Olftcora' club and their civilian
friends.
In charge of arrangements for the
dance last night were Capt. Albert
T. Anderson, Lieut. Roy Craft and
Lieut. Robert W. King.

Plan Anniversary
Party In Ashland

to Zulelma temple. Daughters of the
Nile, at the meeting scheduled for
next Saturday afternoon at two
o'clock. Preceding the meeting, mem.
bers will gather for luncheon at 13:30
at the Redwoods Hotel.
This meeting will see the new offi
cers, headed by Mrs. Charles A. Woods
of this city, queen, taking their
chairs for the first time since their
Installation. In addition to the reg
ular business, committees for the
year will be appointed and the yearly
program outlined.
Also at this time, plans and ar
rangements will be completed for the
party In Ashland In April commem
orating the fifteenth anniversary of
the organization of Zulelma temple.
Charter members will be honored

affair Include a covered dish lunch

to Manzelah temple at Sacramento
recently, where she attended a cere
monial and reception for the su
preme queen, Mrs. Dorella Taylor, of

Guild Party Program
Entertaining In honor of the anni
versary of the organization, members
of the Crater Lake guild held their
annual birthday party at the church
Monday evening.
Appearing on the program was
Mrs. Katharine Wendt, accompanied
by Mrs. Eva Mar ah; a quartet from
the high school glee clubs, composed
of Edith Hodgklns, Cartnne Harwood,
John Dennlson and Don Harriott,
who sang two numbers and were ac
companied by Miss Constance Moore.

tet. John Eada presented tricks of
m a g 1 e and alelght.of-hand. Mrs.
Olotha Olson, Mrs. Earl Wymore and
Miss Eleanor Curry, vocal trio, sang
two numbers, and H. D. Kern showed
the latest pictures, in color, of south
ern Oregon scenes.
At the close of the program, re
freshments were served by the com
mittee In charge. Mrs. Lawrence Pen
nington, Mrs. Frank Ray and Miss
Winifred Andrews.

Dinner And Meeting
Extensive preparations are being
made by the Daughters of Union Vet
erans of the Civil War for the offi
cial visit of the department president,
Mrs. Mary -Furber, of Eugene, which
Is scheduled for Tuesday evening of
this week.
Arrangements are being made for
a no-host dinner at Valentine's cafe
to precede the meeting. Reservations
may be made by calling Mrs. Larry
Schade not later than Tuesday noon.
