Naval Man Vlftlts Donald E. Prlb-
berrow, former resident of this city,
Is visiting Mr. and Mrs Lee Hunter
for a few days. He Is now enrolled
In the school of surgery at the United
States naval hospital at San Diego.
Prlbberrow lived In Medford for sev
eral years and was enrolled in the
headquarters detachment of the CCC :
for 17 months prior to his departure
last November. He served here un
der Capt. HJalmar T. Gentle.
Specialist for CCC H. W. Andrew
sen, specialist in vocational educa
tion, has been assigned to the Med
ford OOC district by the 9th corps
area, San Francisco. He reported for
duty htre yesterday and, left imme
diately to attend a zone educational
conference at Camp Klamath. He will
visit each of the district camps and
help In the development of educa
tional programs, being especially In
terested In the promotion of hand
craft and ertcraft work. He will also
assist the technical staffs in prepar
ing instruction progmina.
Jack Holt, popular star of adven
ture films will he seen In. "Dangerous
Waters," playing at the Rialto theatre
tomorrow and Thursday.
The story presents the red blooded
triumphs of a brawny man of the sea.
In many ways It parallels the recent
burning of the Morro Castle, but with
a far happier fate for the pnsspniiers,
and a very different performance by
the crew.
According to advance reports, fast
tempo and heart lifting action pre
dominate from the first scene to the
last, with excitement heightened by
breath -catching happenings.

today a denial of Italian claims of a
victory south of Makale on the north
ern front.
Raa Mulugheta said there were sev
eral patrol skirmishes last week In
which the Italians lost "heavily" and
the Ethiopians suffered 31 killed and
7ft wounded.
A government communique, de
scribing the Italian claims of a vic
tory south of Makale, and an advance
of 16 miles to Amba Aradam as ab
surd and Impossible, probably will be

all high schools In the county In the
Interest of checking standardization
requirements.
Mr, Emerson has found 13 high
school of Jackson county In very
good conditio- and has made rec
ommendations to the various boards
in the Interest of encouraging them
to keep library and scientific equip
ment up to standard, and has made
clear the requirements needed for
gymnasium and dressing room ac
commodations necessary to carry out
the physical education and health
program which will be well under
way by the coming school year.
Superintendent Howard has fur
nished all districts with the new
courses in health and physical edu
ctalon work.
Standardization of high schools Is
an important matter now that the
non-high school district law is m
operation to make contracts for tui
tion with high schools not stanaara.
Inspections are carried out period
ically under supervision of Dr. How
ard In order that high schools may
be kept up to standard and notified
when necessary additions and changes
are to be made In the interest of
standardisation.
