As soon as con gress passed the measure providing for payment of the adjusted service certificates, the Portland office of the American Legion wired Washington for an allotment of application forms as soon as they were printed. Mr. Holmes said. The blanks were rushed by airmail to the Portland office, which Is distributing them to posts In the state, he related. Veterans should take to the AAA office either the adjusted service cer tificates or the pink slip they received if they previously borrowed on the certificates, Mr. Holmes said. Dis charge papers or copies thereof must ' also be submitted, he explained, If the discharge has been lost or mis laid, the allied council will file ap plication for & new one. he stated. Banwell, aerie president, re quested all Eagles to bring applica tions from prospective and delinquent members to the meeting tonight so that as large a class of Initiates as possible may be presented to the na tional president by the local unit. Lodges In Grants Pass, Ash land, Klamath Falls and other south ern Oregon cities will attend the meeting, each aerie presenting a class of new members for Initiation, Mr. Banwell said. Mr. Nordlln, who comes from St. Paul, Minn., will give an address on the federal security act and the Eagles' plan "to prevent future de pressions," announcement from na tional headquarters said. Mr. Nordlln. former member of the Minnesota legislature, represented the Eagles on. the advisory council on economic security which . helped to draft the social security legislation.
