Each of the corporations will se lect directors to serve on a trl state control board to work out va rious production control problems, and as one Important factor to de termine on the method of disposal of the 80,000 bale eurplus now exist ing. From there he will go to Eugene to hold a mass meeting. Monday he will visit the Portland Veterans Hospital, attend a chamber of commerce luncheon, at 2:30 p. m. speak on KEX, at 5:30 p. m. over station KOIN, and at 8:00 p. m. ad dress a mass meeting at Benson high school. Tuesday he will breakfast with the Portland Breakfast club, then leave for Bonneville, The Dalles, Pendleton and Caldwell, Idaho. Wednesday Study Club Continuing the study of China. Mrs. R. B. Hammond conducted a lesson on modern China at the meeting of the Wednesday Study club on December 4th. From many books on the subject, Mrs. Hnmmond chose for her authority, "My Coun try and My People," by Dr. L. Yu tang, who Is a native of China, edu cated at Harvard and European uni versities, and ably qualified to write intelligently and understanding 01 his native country and his race. In speaking of Chinese art, Mrs. Ham mond mentioned the very fine col lection In the museum at the Uni versity of Oregon. Mrs. A. J. Hanby reviewed "A Con quest of Tibet" by Sven Hedin In which the author tells of his several expeditions of exploration into Tibet and his thrilling adventures and hardships. In the book, many of the characteristics and customs of the people In this far away land, and their religious rites and observances are Interestingly portrayed. The president, Mrs. B. G.
