The carnival held here Friday night
was a complete success with a good
sum of money realized and a large
crowd present. The program provided '
much fun, with Edwin Dunn as an-1
nouncer at the mike. Dale Williams
and James Wallls were boxers, with
Bob Dunn as referee. B. H. Chrlstlleb
impersonated "Farmer Ben." Mrs.
Claude Conley took the part of
'Madam Palooka." Mrs. Taylor Wtl-1
Hams Impersonated "Schuman
Helnk" and Ilene Inlow, ' Ethel Dun
can." Frances Port and Iota Lewis
gave a tap dance, and Marilyn Chrlst
lleb gave the "Top Hat program.
Many valuable prices were given and
much candy and food was consumed
by the happy crowd.
Upper Valley Community club had an
Interesting afternoon Wednesday at
the club houst. The talk on "the
Yellowstone Park" given by Mrs. F.
D. Wagner who visited the park this
past summer was greatly appreciated
by those present.

of the program, of which. Alice Pagel
waa chairman.
The food sale committee, Mrs. I. E.
Deadmond, Mrs. J. E. Gowland and
Mrs. Walter Hash reported their de
cision to serve a turkey dinner to the
public in place of holding a food sale.

have been used very effectively also.
The new drapes at tab windows are a
great Improvement. The covered dish
luncheon at noon added pleasure to

Mr. and Mrs. Ed Huxley from Al
berta, Canada arrived last week for
an extended visit with Mr. and Mrs,
W. L. Huxley. The two men, who are
brothers, will make a trip to Cedro
Wooly. Wash, to visit another brother,
P. L. Huxley.

tract for construction of the Leslie
Junior high school gymnasium to
Robertson. Hay it Wallace of Port
land on their bid of 888,000. The
only other bid received waa that of
Qulgley Brothers of Portland. .
The board rejected the bids fot
the auditorium for the same build
ing aa too high. The gymnasium
sward was declsred about 80,000
more than the estimate.
