Anderson of Kirby came to Medford yesterday. Mrs. Anderson will remain in town for the present while Mr. Anderson will return to Klrby to look after his mining, interest. INTER CITY MEET SETS PRECEDENT The Inter-city conference of Rotary clubs held yesterday In Grants Pass was such a romplete success that Medford Rotarlans today asserted that a precedent was set that would be followed out in the future. It was the first conference of Its kind to be held on the west coast and 175 Rotarlans from seven cities attended, with Stanley Long of Se attle, district governor, giving the prlitciU address at last night's sea slon. Mr. Long emphasized the place of Rotary in civic affairs and pointed out that it can play an important role in mnintnlnlng good will among the 79 nations in which Rotary Inter national is now represented. Mr. Long praised the Medford Ro tary cltib for its program of voca tional work under the able guidance of W. A- Gates, who organised the sub-district conference aa representa tive of the district goxernor. The day's convention opened with a morning conference followed with a luncheon at the Hotel del Rogue, at which E. W. Shockley of Medford led the group In three songs. After the luncheon a forum waa held from 2 to fi o'cock at the Rlvoli theater, the speakers being Lee Bishop and Frank Newman of Medford, Nell Allen of Grants Pass, Prof. W. M. Ball of Oregon State collegeCharles Nunn of Mar&hfleld and E. B. Hall of Klamath Falls. A banquet was held at 6 o'clock In the Hotel del Rogue. Amos Voorhles, president of the Grants Pass club, presided and was lauded for his poise and skill In filling the difficult role of toast master.
