It was the first October snowfall In the history of Portland's 64-year old weather bureau. An Inch of snow covered Klamath Falls while lesser amounts fell and melted at La Grande. Pendleton. The Dalles, Hood River and other towns east of the Cascades. The snow at Pendleton was about 16 days ahead of the usual winter schedule. Low temperatures prevailed, but the aky was clearing. The upper Willamette valley was not visited by snow, but nine' inches of snow sent snow plowa snorting over the McKenzle Pass between Eugene and Bend. The highway department announced the pass between western and central Oregon would be kept open until covered with four feet of snow. Clear skies today followed recent rains at Salem, but some snow had fallen In surrounding hills. The Oregon Caves National Monu ment park will be kept open all win ter. This picture boasts tha largest galsxy of redheads ever assembled at one time In the history of the motion picture. Forty-clsht of the gorgeous creatures. One from each state tn tha union, selected from a nation wide contest. An amusing story of the produc tion of motion pictures and the ever searching for new talent and new ideas, "Redheads on Parade" tells the nerve-wracking experiences of a atar and a producer without sufficient financial backing to produce the pic ture they feel would be successful. But ballyhoo, and a hectic advertis ing campaign bring results, and also bring a set full gf redheaded girls to put over a hair dye and. In that fashion, get the desired financing. The result Is a merry hour's enter tainment, with a musical background to the romance between Boles and Miss Lee.
