W. 10th street, oelebrated their sliver wedding anniversary yeaterday. They were married at Saskatchewan, Can da, and have been-resldenta of Med ford for the past nine, years. Missionary Society Installs New President. The adult missionary society or the First Christian church met Wed nesday afternoon In the church. The meeting opened with those present singing, followed by a prayer led by Mrs. Minnie Crisp. The business period was presided over by the vice-president, Mrs. Vverett Ends. Mrs. Mable Marsh had charge of the program dealing with missions in rural areas. Fol lowing several discussions on the topic, Mrs. L, a. Oentner, the new president, was Installed by Mrs. R. L. ftay. ONLY NOMINEE Federated Clubs Convention Notes Rarely has there been so much en thusiasm displayed nor auch unity of purpoee demonstrated as was shown in the recent convention held at the Civic club house In Ashland, when ten federated clubs of the First , District gathered In an all day ses sion,, representative women from southern Oregon communities were on the program, and present for the general discussions. Club sQngs at appropriate Intervals! enlivened the day and special music- 1 al numbers of unusual beauty were given. 1 The numbers from the different cluba were worthy a place on any pro gram both In their content and pre sentation. The luncheon program waa espe cially Interesting, spicy, to the point and bringing a real message to those present. The financial altuattop of the dis trict, from an appended report on the program struck an encouraging not. Presents Noted Naturalist Tuesday Evening Among notable events of the forth coming week will be the lecture on Tuesday night by Don Admiral, spon sored by the Business and Profes sional Women's club. Mr, Admiral will speak on the Desert of the Palms" and will dla cusa the natural history of the desert lands, flora and fauna found there, the history and Ufa of the ancient and modern Indiana, desert geology. Palm Springs winter colony life, win ter sports on the desert, the new Joshua national tree monument and other highly Interesting and unusual phases of the subject. The lecture will be Illustrated and will be held In St. Mark's parish hall. Mr. Admiral Is an authority on this subject, and Jiaa lectured during the summer at the University of Wassh Ington and many communities on the coast. He conducts a desert program at Bullocks -Wl Is hi re In Los Angeles each January and presents programs at leading hotels throughout California. The public Is cordially Invited to hear Mr. Admiral. Hubbard, who will leave Wednesday on a motor trip which will take them as far as Florida and, possibly Washington, D. O. The' Hubbards Intend driving leis urely eastward, through the southern states, and expect to be gone most of' the winter months. - Missionary Group Has Annual Dues Paying Luncheon . The Missionary societies of the M. E. church held their annual dues-paying luncheon Tuesday at the church. The ladles' parlor of the church was decorated with flowers and made an appropriate setting for the beautifully appointed tables, around which were gathered the members and their friends, lnclud lng as special guest, Mrs. Riley Hen son of Klamath Falls, a former member. Following the luncheon, Mrs. N. Wiley, president of the Joint socle ties, presided over the business meet ing and Mrs, L. T. Belknap eon ducted the devotional period. Mra. w. Holloway was in charge of the atudy hour and sang "Let Us Have Peace," by George Graff, Jr. Reports of the missionary conven tion at Grants Pass were heard and various phases of Christian citizen ship were discussed. BelULogan Rites In Klamath Falls Mr. and Mrs. T. J. Bell of Talent and Albert Bell of Phoenix, motored to Klamath Falls on September 31 to attend the wedding of their nlAce, Miss Mae Bell, to Mr. Lowei Logan, which took place at the First Christian Church In Klamath Falls on Sunday, September 32 at 3:00 p. m., where over a hundred rela tives and friends were In attend ance. After the wedding a reception waa held at the bride's home for the friends and near relet: -es ot the bride snd groom. A wedding cake adorned the center of the table, set in beautifully decorated roorns. After the wedding the newly-weds left for Crescent City and other coast towns for a short honey moon. Mrs. A. B. Ferns Honored at Luncheon. Friends of Mrs. A. B. Ferns, of Fern valley, gathered at her home on Thursday afternoon for lunch eon. Mrs. Ferns received many gifts and the day was spent In visiting. Wednesday Study Club Meeting Has Interesting Subject The Wednesday Study club met in regular session on October 3, In the club rooms at 330 N. Bartlett street, the president, Mrs. B. G. Harding, presiding. At the conclusion of rou tine business, Mrs. Harding opened the program with an extremely in teresting and Instructive talk on "The Constitution of the United States," the convention in Phila delphia, where It waa framed, end some of the problems which eon fronted the statesmen of that day. Questions on various points, given by Mrs. Harding, were answered by members of the club. This 1a a new departure In the Study club pro grams and one which evokes more general atudy of the subject.
