flyer killed with Capt. H. W. Kill
pack when their army plane crashed
at the Prlneville, Ore., airport Thurs--day,
was a personal friend of Capt.
Lee M. Bown of the Oregon state
police here It was learned yesterday.
Captain Bown said yesterday that
Rosenburgh was one of the most re
markable young men he had ever
known. He and Rosenburgh spent an
enjoyable afternoon together last
Sunday at Marshfteld, where Rosen
burgh was participating In the Paul
Bunyan air circus. When they parted
It was with the promise that they
would meet each other at Klamath
Falls today, at an air circus being
conducted there.
Captain Bown had known the flyer
since he was only a small boy, and
Is also well acquainted with his
family. There are many others la
southern Oregon who knew and loved
RoRenburgh. the captain stated.
According to Tom Culbertson. sup
erintendent of the municipal airport
nere, Lieut. Rosenburgh brought his
north bound army plane Into the
Medford airport about a year ago
partially asphyxiated by carbon mon
oxide fumes from a leaking exhaust
manifold on his motor. He waa taken
from the plane quite 111, and treated
by Dr. Douglass, CCO physician now
serving In Idaho.
Fully recovered the next day. he
took off for the north.
