GIVES DUCKS SET-UP
IN PENNANT TUSSLE
(By the Associated Press)
The change of schedule which sends
the last place Hollywood Stars into
the camp of the pennant-hungry
Portland Ducks for a nine-game se
ries this week may prove the de
cisive factor In the tight Pacific
Coast league race.
Their drive toward the top halted
temporarily last week by the leading
San Francisco Missions, the Ducks In
all probability need only to keep the
Stars losing at their present rate to
gain a commanding bulge over the
field. The other game are more
closely matched.
All series this week will run for
nine games, with double headers next
Monday, labor day.
The San Francisco Seals, persist
ently balked by their Inability to
come through in the pinches and
knocked out of first place by the
Sacramento Senators last week, meet
the sixth-place Oakland Oaks here.
The Missions travel to Seattle,
probably the most enthusiastic base
ball town In the league, to tangle
with the up-and-coming Indians. Sac
ramento faces Los Angeles on the
letter's home field.

Fenton finally giving up the struggle
and was pinned with a body press.
Bulldog Jackson used his hammer
lock to defeat Ernie Plluso, two out
of three falls. Del Kunkel, Salt Lake
and Herb Parks, Canada, went 30
minutes to a draw. Jerry Marku de
feated Pug Ryan.
