Smith, principal of the Med ford high school, today announced that there will be an annual football officials' examination at the high school building September 7 at 3 p. m. The examination will Include questions on all matters pertaining to decisions to be made by referees, umpires, Itnesmen and field Judges, based upon the NCAA football rules for 1935. When the results have been made known, a complete compilation of grades will be made and forwarded to every high school In the state. This Is a departure from the sys tem used last year, when the football and basketball officials mere examin ed together. The two will now be handled Independently, with compila tions sent out for each. The Medford school uses only offi cials that have passed the examina tions, Smith stated.
