a little Improvement In our opinion.
Of course, however, one cannot ex

one year, so we have hopes that this
car that has gotten olf to a good
start may finally end up as some
thing really good. Now for a little
criticism, both good and bad. Xn
the first place we are alightly In
clined to believe that the word
"streamline" was stretched a little
in order that It might apply to this
car. The two features that might
apply to a really streamlined car
are the sloping windshield and the
slightly slanting rear, but outside pf
those feaures this car might be said
to be most anything but stream
lined. In the first place, the front
part of the car is practically Identi
cal with those of other English cars.

of course, those odd small, bicycle

forgets the appearance, there are
many advantages in this car. The

the passengers.

in the windows. Those in the front

in the rear doors are divided in the

Still another odd feature is that the
rear track of this car la exactly one

FORD V-8 -e-
ou ride in safety with
the Ford VS
SAFETY comes first in designing a Ford car. The
people look to us to make the safest car it is
possible to make. Cost doesn't enter into that.
Long ago we decided that the all-steel body
was the safest type of automobile body. It cost
us more, but it was the right thing to do. So we
put it into production.
Safety Glass was another important step for
ward. As far back as 1927 we began using it for
the windshields of the Ford. Now all Ford body
types are equipped with Safety Glass through
out. It costs us more to provide this extra
protection, but you do not pay extra for it.
Ford brakes are another important safety fea
ture. They are powerful and quick-stopping
and we believe they are the safest and most
dependable type of brakes for motor cars. Cost
isn't a factor here Ford brakes are the same
design as those used on the most expensive
automobiles.
The idea behind the Ford V-8 is to bring a
constantly higher standard of motor car value
within reach of every one who drives. That
applies to safety as well as performance, com
fort, beauty and convenience.
