The last entertainment for the popular young couple before their wedding, which will take place Satur day evening Aug. 17, will be a tea given Tuesday for Miss Parson by Mtas Gloria Oetchell, at the home of her parete. Mr. and Mrs, Delroy Oet chell. Guest will be Invited from 4 to 6 o'clock during the afternoon. Territts Celebrate Golden Wedding At Dade Territt Home Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Territt of Cen tral Point celebrated their golden wedding August 6 at the home of their son, Dade Territt, of this city. Present for the happy occasion were Mrs. Erlcan and children o South Dakota, daughter and grand children of the Territts; Mrs. Homey, Mrs. Dunlap, the host and hostess. Mr. and Mrs. Dade Territt. and daughter and the honor guests. Lovely flowers decorated the rooms, furnished by Mrs. Harry Mark, and during the day Mr. and Mrs. Territt were the recipients of many lovely gifts and flowers from friends and relatives here and also from Ban Francisco and North Dakota. Mrs. Roseborough Is Phoenix Honoree Mrs. Bertha Garrison of Phoenix, entertained Tuesday afternoon at a shower given In honor of Mrs. Harold RoeeborouRh of that city. They left Immediately on a wedding trip to Diamond Lnke, after which they will make their home In Klam ath Falls, where Mr. Doremus has been transferred with Shell Oil Co. C. L. U. Ward Poulsons On Wedding Trip Here Honorees at Dinner Mr. and Mrs. Ward Poulson of Pasadena, Cal., who were married in that city last Wednesday and are on a wedding trip in southern Ore gon, were the honor guests Friday evening at dinner at the country home of Mr. and Mrs. A. S. V. Car penter. Mr. and Mrs. Poulson are occupying the A. J. KJocker sum mer lodge on the Rogue river for a few days. Guests Invited were Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Aldrlch, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Carpenter, Mr. and Mrs. T. Slater Johnston, Miss Mary Louise Car penter, who is the guest of the Leonard Carpenters, Miss Barbara Cowles, guest at the Don Clark home, George Allen of England, who Is visiting the Leonard Carpenters, and Dunbar Carpenter. Mrs. poulson, the former Mlas Mar guerite Baker of Pasadena, is known to many in the valley, having visited here -on several occasions. Miss Vivian Turner To Wed Rev. Millard At 2 This Afternoon Mlas Vivian Turner of Lo Angeles, who arrived In Medford yesterday morning on the Shasta, will be mar ried to the Rev. D. E. Millard of this city at 3 o'clock this afternoon at Rev. Millard's home on the Rogue river, Rogucdale park. The ceremony will be performed by the Rev. w. R. Balrd of the First Christian church. Foil owl ng the marriage Rev. a nd Mr. Millard will be at home at Roguedale park, which la situated near Shady Cove. Mis Turner Is known to many In Medford, having visited here on sev eral occasions. For the past 11 years she was employed at the California Bank in Los Angeles, and was the heroine of a bank robbery there In October, 1034. She reached behind a counter In the face of the bandits and turned In an alarm, also securing the license number of the car as they fled. Miss Turner went to Los Angeles In 1918 from Dickinson. N. D.. her for mer home. Rev. Millard ha bven prominent In church work in south ern Oregon for many years, and is a well known singer and composer. Myers and Family to Coast For Varntlon at Crescent City, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Myers and son. Iran of Central Point and Mrs. Myers mother. Mrs. Julia Myers of Rogue River, motored to Crescent City this morning where they will spend a week's vacation at the seashore. Madame Butler Guest At L. A. Salade Home Madame Hannah Butler of Chi cago, prominent singer and teacher In eastern music circles, has been the distinguished guest for the past few days at the home of Mr. and Mr. L. A. Salade, Jr., of Central Point. She Is expected to remain at the Salade home during the en suing week. Mr. and Mrs. Hogue-arrived In Med ford yesterday and will be the honor guests today at a wedding dinner at the home of the bride's parents. Mr. and Mrs. Hogue will return south to make their home in Yreka. where Mr. Hogue has a position as cashier at the Yreka offices of the California Oregon Power Co. 4 A A Mrs. Paul Scherer Feted At Town Club Luncheon On Friday One of the most delightful enter tainments of the week was the lunch eon and bridge party given Friday at the Town club by Mrs. Shelby Tuttle In honor of Mr. Paul Scherer. formerly of this city and now oi San Francisco, who Is spending a part of the summer here. Twenty three guests enjoyed the affair. Mrs. Scherer is now at her sum mer home on Rogue river near lower Table Rock, with her daughter. Miss Anne, who had been a guest for some time at the Leonard Carpenter home before Mrs. Scherer' arrival. Mrs. Scherer Is being greeted by many friends during her stay in southern Oregon, and to renew ac quaintances was the purpose of the luncheon Friday at the Town club. Members of Student Club Will Meet At Ashland for Picnic Paul Janneys Have Guests During Week James Grainger and Mr. and Mrs. William Bell of East Hampton, Long Island. New York, were Interesting visitors In Medford during the past week, stopping for the day Wednesday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Janney. Mr. Grainger 1 the son of the Rev. William (Sralnger of St. Luke's parish. East Hampton, and Is a student at Tuft's Medical college, Boston. Mrs. George Humphries Entertains With Luncheon. Among the week's hostesses was Mrs. George Humphreys of 826 East Jackson street, who entertained Wed. nesday at bridge luncheon, at her home. Twelve guests were invited. Ml.ss Yvonne Atkinson Expected at Shreve Home Miss Yvonne Atkinson of Eugene, whose mother. Mrs. Joyce Atkinson, was a brief Medford visitor during the week, was expected to arrive on the Shasta last evening to be guest of Miss Janice Shreve at her home, 007 East Main street. Miss Barbara Sheldon Arrives From Los Angeles. Miss Barbara Sheldon, daughter of Mr. Ben Sheldon, was expected to arrive over the week-end to spend two weeks here visiting in Medford with Miss Phoebe Dean. She was ex pected to accompany Porter J. Nell back from the south. Plans have been completed for the Oregon State Student club's supper picnic to be held in the Ashland Llthla park at 5:30 this evening. Pre ceding the picnic the students will swim at Twin Plunges. This picnic will climax Oregon State week end. which Is held throughout the state from August 9 to 11. A large attendance of Oregon State students and guests Is expected and an Invitation also has' been extended to former Oregon State students and alumni. Deuel, accompanied by her granddaughter, Susan Vilas, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ned Vilas, arrived on the Shasta Saturday from San Francisco. Mrs. Deuel had been in the south and In Denver. Colo., since last April, and was met by her granddaughter in the Bay City upon her return to the coast. Carlyn Hill Returns From Lake o the Woods Mis Carlyn Hill, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Howard A. Aa it was the birthday anniversary of one of the members, Mrs. God- dard, the occasion was celebrated with a lovely cake and the presenta tion of ft unique gift.
