Weatherford. pastor-evangelist, used as his topic "God's Handicap In the Christian Program." His message was based upon Luke 13:6-0. The Import of the parable read from the Scripture citation centered In the efforts of the husbandman to stimulate the tree to greater produc tion. "The parable." he said, "has an Important personal application. We draw the conclusion that God expects spiritual fruitage from every life. "No Christian life ts outside he plan which comprehends the whole, or world evangelism. It la the con clusion of the scientific world that nothtng Is Isolated and Independent, but that all nature Is a world gov erned by an idea to fulfill a purpose. "It Is a aad commentary on the human race that while man Is the highest of God's creation, yet he la the last to comply with God's plan In fulfilling his high purpose In be half of the human race. That pur pose Is the redemption of man through the sacrifice of Christ. "If we neglect the plan and pur pose of Ood we cannot but fall to produce the fruit of a life which He anticipates, consequently man fails God's plan for his safety and eternal enjoyment to build for himself a false refuge and a consequent reap ing of a sinner's reward. "I suppose one of the most wither ing rebukes to a professed Christian is to receive the pronouncement, "Thou art barren. This should be a sufficient challenge to receive a new divine urge that clamors to be di vinely fertilized, cultivated and wat ered. "As a tree of God's planting, we have no right to encumber the ground of His vineyard unless there Is fruit hanging from our limbs at the end of the season. It Is God's pronounce ment that either the fruit must be borne or the vine cut down." There were two who accepted Christ on profession of faith. FOR POWGKTS KINGMAN, Ariz., Aug. iVP) A change In legal tactics In the prose cution of a community of alleged polygemlsts In Isolated northern Ari zona was disclosed today by District Attorney Elmo Bollinger of Mohave county. Bollinger filed criminal charges of "open adultery" lust Saturday against , eight residents of the Short creek district, but now Intends to prose-1 cute the four men and four women Involved under a law banning "open 1 and notorious cohabitation." "We cannot use the adultery charges." he explained, "because we have no complaining witnesses. Pros ecution under the bigamy law would be too expensive, Inasmuch as the marriages were likely performed else where." Bollinger said his attention was directed to the ahort creek area when relief agents declared some of the women described themselves as plural wives of men in the district. "When we Investigated." he assert ed, "we found one case where the women gave birth to bo-bins last month, and all of the Infant had the same father."
