Benodenos, who lives near Mrs. Doe, appeared In Justice court this morn ing and was given until 2:00 P. m. tomorrow to cither waive or demand a preliminary hearing. Proposal for Enactment of a Law Cre ating a Misdemeanor to to Be known as False Swearing. At present statutes require that be fore anyone can be punished for per jury, the falsification must be within Jullrlal knowledge and must tend to obstruct the orderly administration of Justice. Bailey's recommendation la that a new law be formed providing that prosecution for false swearing may be carried out; that anyone who I swears falsely, no matter whether or ' not the falsification Is material to Justice, may be punished for having committed a misdemeanor. BAILEY WINNER BEST LAW REVUE The latest edition of tha 'Oregon Law Revue,' published quarter-annually by the- University of Oregon, carries an article stating that Ralph Bailey, former Medeford high school history and forenslca Instructor and now Btudylnng law at the university, recently won the 50 Prank R. Hil ton prize for the best oral discussion by students of legal subjects, sug gested by the faculty of the school of law. However, August is generally a much better month in the building industry, August of last year showed a total of 8097. Most of the permits taken out during July were for small home re pairs. Allison and Mrs. Margaret Cotton Injured In an auto accMnt on the Pacific highway at the Tolo overhead crossing yesterday after noon, were to be dismissed from a local hospital today. Mrs. Allison, the worst Injured, sus tained a six-Inch scalp cut. Examin ation revealed no other injury. Mrs. Margaret Cotton suffered from ahock, and Allison, a Southern Pa cific railroad conductor, sustained face end head cuts and bruises. The Allison auto, headed north, ac cording to state police reports, passed an auto on a curve at the foot of the overhead crossing, struck a soft, gravel shoulder, 'and skidded over an embankment.
