Entertainment at the Town club Is Increasing this week, preceding the mid-summer formal Friday even ing, with luncheons, bridge parties and other events. Sixteen have been Invited to a bridge luncheon today, entertained by Msdames W. P. Qulsenberry, Lola Day and Everett Brayton, who are honoring Mrs. William F. McKlb bln of Portland, a guest here at the home of her sister, Mrs. L. A. Wil liamson of South Orange. Mrs. McKlbbln. much feted during her stay In Medford. was also the honoree Monday evening when Mrs. Williamson gave a ptcnlc supper at Ashland. Seventeen were Invited for this event, which was followed by an evening of bridge at the club. Tomorrow wives of the officers of the Medford CCC district headquar tera will be entertained at bridge luncheon. Invitations having been extended to twelve. Hostesses will be Mesdames William C. Ryan. F. K. Smith. Roy D. Craft and Theodore P. Coates. Eighteen agents of Standard Oil company were entertained last even ing at dinner at the Town club, with the Medlord management as hosts. Miss Marparet Hensley Returns From Portland Visit. Miss Margaret Hensley returned this morning on the Oregonian from a three-day visit In Portland, with her father, R. Hensley. She was also a guest of her brother. Clay, and family, and visited with her sister, Mrs. Dolph Byrd of Burns, Ore., who was In the Rob City over the week end. El Monarch Seed&FeedCo. i Group Returns After Riding Trip to Lake. A group of the younger set, accom panied by Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Dodge, returned yesterday after an enjoy able week-end riding trip to Lake o" the Woods. Leaving early Friday morning, the trip was made as far as McAllister Soda Springs the first day, thence to the lake on Satur day. After vacationing there over the week-end, the ride to Brownsboro was made Monday, and the party arrived In Medford yesterday. Those who accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Dodge were Misses Charity Hart, Jeanne Salade, Deborah Tumy, Jean McCurly. Barbara Lemmon and Cecil Humphreys, and Jim Henry. Martin Luther. Bub Thlerolf. John Koppen, Gordon Benson, Bruce Ham mond, John Millard, and Bob and Alex Cunningham, who are visiting here at the Thlerolf home from Wll lester, N. D. Meekers Reach Yellowstone On Extended Vacation Tour. Friends In Medford have received word from Yellowstone national park that Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Meeker, who are making an extended vacation tour with their daughter, Miss Elea nor, are enjoying several days there en route to California. They left Medford by motor July 21, and after visiting In many In teresting points in the middle west, will vacation for a time In southern California, according to word received here before returning. They are ex pected back the first of September. Mr. and Mrs. Gates Expected Back From North. Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Gates are ex pected to return this evening or to morrow from Portland, where they have been spending the past several days. They were accompanied on the motor trip by their daughter. Miss Mary Anne. The beach in northern Oregon Is continuing to attract numerous vaca tionists, those leaving over the week end havlrur been Mrs. Km 11 Mohr and daughter, Mrs. Edna Stoehr. They motored to Gear hart to spend a week or ten days. AGED COUPLE MARRY ON AID OF PENSION MAISON, Ohio (UP) After "going together" for some time, a 76-year-old couple were able to be married through the aid of the Ohio old-age pension system. Until they received pension checks, John Shields and Mrs. Polly Sebring, both of Prospect, were residents of the county home. The marriage was the second for Shields and the third for the bride. Family Broken Thirty-two girls left Sunday for Camp McLaughlin Olrl Scout sum mer camp at Lake o' the Woods, where they will sojourn for the next week or two. The councillors have been at camp for several days, getting things ready, as there are many things to do to launch the planned program.
