Testimony In the tiie.1 developed one major point: whether Hlttson took the gold from the "Hlttson shaft, " as contended by the plaintiffs, or from the new shaft, a quarter of a mile away, as the defense holds The plaintiffs hold that the "Hlttson shaft" Is located on tooth the "Ruby" and "Lucky 13" claims, which over lap. The claims are located In Siski you county Just beyond the Oregon- California state line. The property Is now under a receiver guard named by the Siskiyou county superior court A suit over the gold mine and claim Is pending In the California courts. Approximately $10,000 ts Involved In the local litigation, which Hlttson Is alleged to have mined last Decern bar and January, but unconfirmed re ports say treble that amount was se cured.
