Mrs. O. Campbell has arrived here from Poca tello. Idaho, .to be with her daugh ter, Mrs. Sam Parker, during her op eration. Mrs. Parker and her mother from this district Saturday to Med ford, where Mrs. Campbell will re main until her daughter leaves the hospital. Mrs. Pnrker expected to go to the hospital today. Mrs. Campbell and Mrs. Parker were house guests of Mrs. Edna Hutohin son for a few days recently. They were also guests at the Garber home prior to their removal to town. Fourth of July waa quietly spent In this district with large family gatherings and dinners but noticeable dearth of nolso. No firecrackers and no guns were discharged but a fu rious water fight was waged with both sides resembling the proverbial drowned rat at Its conclusion. A badly spralnpd knee was suffered by one of the contestants. Mrs. Mildred Miller has resumed her old Job of cooking for the Moun tain Lumber company crew. Mr. and Mrs. J. Ray Schermerhorn. accompanied by Edna Hutchison and Dorothy Ash were transacting busi ness In Medford July 8. The shower held at the home of Mrs. H. L. Ash July 3 waa well at tended and the guest of honor, Mrs. Sam Parker, received many lovely and practical gifts. Refreshments were served by the Elk Creek Social club and all the ladles report having had a most enjoyable time. Arthur Schermerhorn, also Dare and Orval Peterson, motored to Med ford Sunday evening to attend the show. Elk Creek Social club met the eve ning of the 5th, the meeting termi nating In a dance. A number of lo cal people were present and all report a Jolly good time. Edna Hutchison and children spent the week end at the home of Mrs. Jess Oarbo. They alao went to Diamond lake. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Patton, Lowell Patton, Mr. and Mra. Qua Edmondson, Mr. and Mra. Charles White and chil dren. Miss Talllenne Jackson. Mra. Williamson and Mr. and Mrs. Harold patton spent several days at Pour Mile lake last week. The lake was too high for goo4 fishing but the boating was wonderful. Miss Talll enne Jackson swam In the cold water of Four Mile lake on the Fourth of July. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Bcckdoldt, Mr. and Mrs. John Allen, Mr, and Mra. Walter Allen, Mra. Margaret Patton.
