Ind., arrived this morning on the Oregon Ian. leaving on the stage for Crater Lake, where he will be a brief visitor before leaving for the south through Klamath Falls. Mr. Faucett he,s visited Alaska on an ex tended vacation trip. Heath Return Fred Heath, mem ber of the city council, returned this morning by train from Portland, where he attended to business rela tive to the disposal of blocks of water main refunding bonds recently sold by the city to Baker Fordyoe & Co., and the Universal Bond and Mort gage Co. Band Gives Concert The recently organized Southern Oregon band, di rected by Joseph Hannan of Talent and composed of 34 pieces, presented one of a scries of concert last night at the city park in this city, it la pla nned to gl ve the concerts every other Tuesday evening, with rehears als on the alternate Tuesday even ings at the Armory. Visiting Grepnleafs Mr. and Mrs. Smith and daughter Mona Lee. have been visiting for the past week at Ranch Oreenleaf on the Old Stage road. Mrs. Smith, formerly Misa Ethel Taylor, Is a niece of Mr. and Mrs W. L. Greenleaf and attended school in the valley. Trips were made to points of interest, but they were most thrill ed over a trip to Crater Lake and encountering a mild snowstorm on the way, and an air ride over the Medford country side. The visitors are returning to their home in Los Angeles by the Redwood highway. The new Elizabethan theater at the Chautauqua building was formally opened on Tuesday evening when "Twelfth Night" was presented by student dramatists. "The Merchant of Venice' is scheduled tonight, and "Twelfth Night" will be repeated on Thursday evening. A parade will open the celebration at Grants Pass, where many from Medford are planning to spend the day. and the state Eagles' convention which opens Thursday at the Climate City promises to add color and Inter est to the program. Fireworks, swim ming In the Rogue and picnicking will be among the attractions. The annual ceieDratlon at Crescent City will draw many from the valley, although the longer drive will be at tempted only by those who are wilt ing to rise with the sun. One of the most complete programs In years has been arranged at the beach city. Tourists and many house guests will be taken to Crater Lake for per haps a more quiet holiday.
