Due to the absence of Chairman Lawrence John son, Vice-Chairman Wayland Frye presided. Ernest Rhodes was present and gave an Interesting talk. He Is considered one of the outstanding Townsend speakers In southern Ore gon. Five signed up, bringing the mem bership list to 85. The club has al- leady secured their minor charter, and with another address like Mr. Rhodes', hope to reach the 100 mark. It was sugested that a speaker from Jackson county be secured for the next meeting If possible. Heretofore, the speakers have come from Orants Pass. Next meeting will be Wednes day night, July 3. Dally vacation Bible school, in ses sion for the post two weeks, held graduation exorcises at the school house Saturday night. Rev. D. D. Randall spoke briefly of the advan tages of such a school and the classes gave an exhibition of their progress during the session. Morris Edelmuth and Cal Stevens attended a Townsend club meeting In rants Pass Tuesday. Mrs. Reglna Krauss is 111 at her home on Sykes creek, suffering with neuralgia of the heart. She Is some what Improved at present, but must remain In bed for several daya yet. Mrs. Krause will soon celebrate her 87th birthday and up until this time has done all her own work, and la noted for her sunny disposition and alertness. All hope to see her soon walking around as briskly as ever. Mrs. Ireta Jackson has been assist ing with the cooking at the Rlchman home the past wees, as it has been haying time at their three ranches. Most of the time there are 13 to lo at mealtime.
