units of Jackson county. Purpose of
the meeting, according to Mabel C.
Mark, county home demonstration
agent, la to complete the fitting ot
the guide patterns, made last fall,
and the making of paper pattern
for use In dress construction.
Ttieee meetings are being held, Mra.
Mack stated, with the assistance of
Mrs. tmene Smith and Mrs. Rita
Myers- It la very Important that all
membera of tha home extension unite
who made guide patterns last fall
attend as scheduled and others who
deelre to make a pattern are also
ured to attend, since the work will
not he repeated next fall. The pro
ject will be continued In the fall
with "New Appllcallona and Uses of
the Guide Pattern."

CCO district headquarters of the
Impending delivery of a large num
ber of motor vehicles lor this dis
trict was made yesterday. The eon
voy of new machines will be deliv
ered overland from the Presidio In
San Francisco, either manned by
army or CCC drlvera. and ehoula
arrive sometime during the week. A
radio message from the local head
quarters Friday requested speedy de
livery. It was learned.
The machines. Including 30 Chev
rolet ton-and-a-half trucks, three
Plymouth sedans and three Chevro
let., ambulances, are Intended to
equip -the new companies moving
Into thla district In the near future.
Of the new trucks, half will be
stationed at the fairgrounds hers
and half will be allotted to the var
ious camps. All three of the Ply
mouths will be stationed here, and
the three ambulances will be on
duty at the fairgrounds.
The new additions to the motor
unit brings the total number ot
trucks In the district to 69. wltn
eight ambulances, eight sedans and
one wrecker. The wrecker la also
stationed at the fairgrounds.

The Skinner Garage, the dealer, has
one demonstrator on the floor now.

This new LaSalle is quite sn im
provement over last year's car, and
it waa noted for Its features. This
car is smarter than the 1934 model
in that it has the "turret-top"
body, and V-type windshield to con
tribute to Its good appearance. The
interiors are also more modern. In
these cars you have a choice ol
several fine materials for the up
holstery, and the interior fittings
are very luxurious and complete.
The upholstery in the car which
we saw waa a new Bedford cord,
and It certainly harmoniwd with
the car about as completely as any
upholstery could. We also think that
the Instrument board Is exception
ally good looking it Is complete to
the most minute details. It includes
a cigar lighter, ash tray, dash light,
service light for reading maps. etc..

This new LaSalle is built in the
Cadillac factory by the Cadillac
craftsmen, and reflects Cadillac's
precision standards. This mesne that
all of the high priced experience
which is Cadillac's la now also La
Salle's. The engine employed in this
car Is of the In-line eight cylin
der type. It develops 105 horse
power which is 10 more than last
year's engine. Thia motor surely
has all of the power and "pep" any
one wotild ordinarily have any use
for. On the short run we had It on
It shoved aome of the most bril
liant performance we have ever had
the pleasure of experiencing and
it wss smooth power, too. There la
no excessive noise or vibration
which same cars have when they
are accelerating from a low speed.
The ease of handling Is also ex
ceptional for as large a car a thla
LaSalle. The steering wheel la very
different too. It has spring pllons
instead of the usual solid steel ones
found on most cars. This spring
mounting of the wheel gives it more
resiliency and makea the steering
seem more free and easy. The brakes
also, are exceptionally easy to use.
