Thompson. Med ford, was fined $10 and Dan Rich mond, transient, was given a ten diy suspended sentence with the provis ion that he leave town immediately. Wins Scholarship Mrs. J. W. Jor gensen of Montague. Calif., formerly Gertrude Hendenon of Medford. has been presented a partial scholarship In arts from the Chicago Are insti tution, and will begin her course Of study In June. Bridge Match Slated A return match between the bridge fans of the local Rotary and Klwnnls clubs 1 scheduled for next Monday ntsrht. May 27. Navy Planes stop, Here Eight navy plajies landed at the municipal air port here Friday to refuel and to lunch. They were under the flight command of Lieut. Adams, and were on their way to Oakland from Sand Point naval base in Seattle. The larg est plane In the group was the Mar tin T-4-M-1 torpedo ship flown hy Lieut. Cram. Six of the ships were Curt's "Hell-divers." and one was a Vaught Corsair, piloted by Lieut. Majigum. The pilots of the six "Hell dlvers" were Lieutenants Adams. Bsrd. Ferguson. Ralston. Nelson and Hurst. The squadron will again make Its appearance here when It arrives Monday on It way back to Sand Point. Drive South Ansel Knox and Leon ard Bingham drove to Auburn. Cal. last Wednesday evening for Miss Viv ian Hulbert so she could be here for graduation May 31. Vivian has been visiting In Auburn for the last five weeks, and she says Medford looks more prosperous to her and she's glad to be home. The boys report an excellent trip both ways, except for rain In the Shasta valley. Miss The! ma Hulbert left Wednesday evening with Ansel Knox and Leonard Bing ham for an extended visit with rel atives in Auburn and Sacramento, Cal. Thursday morning, after arriv ing there. She and Vivian visited the Placer Union high school. Many of Vivian's old school chums graduat this year also. CCC District Aides Detailed To Idaho Two Medford district officers will leave Sunday for Pocatello, Idaho, where they will be on duty at the Pocatello district CCC headquarters. They are First Lieutenant Robert S. Bower, who will be detailed as assist ant adjutant, and First Lieutenant Edward H. LaSalle, who will serve as motor transport officer. Lieutenant Bower has been on duty at the Medford district headquarters as asslsatnt personnel adjutant, while Lieutenant LaSalle was motor trans' port officer here for several months and more recently has been on duty at Camp Bradford. - 1 BIRTHS Mr. and Mrs. Hugo Frohreieh, of 304 N.
