Mrs. John Kathan, Mrs. Harry Simp- !

Mrs. Carol Miller and Mrs. Elmer
Chamberlain were members most of
the year. These ladles are very en
thusiastic in their praise and appre
ciation of the help and enjoyment
they have derived from their mem
bership in this class.
In spite of difficulties and hard
ships, bad roads and Inclement
weather, class days each week have
found the members on hand for their
lesson and mutual social pleasure.
It was with real regret that they
listened to a letter from County
Superintendent Bowman, read by
their teacher, which gave notice that
the class must discontinue three
weeks ahead of the time previously
planned upon.
Both they and Mrs. Barto have
been hoping not only to finish this,
their fourth term, but to go on with
a summer term of out of door paint

weeks. They are still hoping that the
class may be resumed later and are
expecting to have an exhibit of their
painting soon In Medford.

FINE FARM PLACES
RECEIVE PRAISE OF
MRS. MARY 0. CAREY
By Mary O. Carey
EDEN PRECINCT. May 16. (Spl.)
It ha been my pleasure to spend
a couple of days at two of the most
beautiful and well kept homes In the
valley, lately. One was at the Clyde
Barnum home, where I was an all
day guest about ten day aio. There
I found one ot the finest kept
grounds about the home of any place
in the valley. Not only a well kept
and valuable orchard, but ornamental
trees blooming and beautiful ehruba
about the yard and ground.
The other wa the A. R. Phippa
home where I waa a dinner guest on
Mother Day. There I aaw aome of
the finest stock I have seen anywhere
on the farm. The Phlppsee believe It
takes no more to feed a good animal
than a poor one and that the returns

are much more. The farm of several
hundred acres was in abundant wheat
and corn crops.
If we would only take more pride
In our old farm places and secure the
best in beauty, and in equipment
and in our stock as well as eccd for
tne crops the attraction to the farms
would soon draw new interest to our
valley and greater prosperity to the
owner.
