Orchestral Ensemble

Aa their contribution to National
Music week the orchestral ensemble
of the Girls' Community club will
present a vesper service Sundny af
ternoon from 4 to 6 o'clock at the
clubhouse on North Bartlett street.
The public Is cordially iiiirtted.
Mrs. E. E. Oore, supervisor, and
Ml&s Alice Holmbeck, director, have
donated, their service toward the
teaching cf this group for the past
three months. This is the first public
appearance. The clas- is composed en

teer leadership of these well known
musicians, members of the ensemble

board of directors of the Girls Com

dance tomorrow night at Hotel Med
ford. having extended invitations to
members of the club, local army and
forest service personnel and others
connected with the services.
The party will bid farewell to Major
and Mrs. Clare H. Armstrong who will
leave Medford In June, and will wel
come Major and Mrs. George B.
Owens, who have arrived to make
their home In Medford. where Major
Owens will succeed Major Armstrong
la the command of Medford CCC dis
trict when the latter Is transferred
east this summer.

The club has had a very success
ful year, having a ;otal of thirty
three members, and having followed
and completed the course of study,
which the members have found both
enjoyable and educational.
Loyalty Club Hut
Meeting Wednesday.
Loyalty club met at the Eagles'
hall Wednesday with a covered dish
luncheon served at 1 o'clock, with
business meeting following, presided
over by Vice-President Aletha LUlle.
Mystery prize was awarded Mrs.
Yetta Flowers. Those present were

A special Mother's Day program is
being presented by the senior Inter
mediate Christian Endeavor society
of the First Christian church, Sun
day evening, beginning at 6:45.
Wllbert Dale will take charge of
the talks given on "Mothers of the
Bible." "Mother's Prayer" will be sung
by Wtllari Oliver; Effle Belle Oliver
and Dorothy Montleth.
The members of the society wish to
extend a special invitation to their
mothers and to the young people who
would like to attend.

At Riddell Home
Medford Dental Study club met
Thursday evening at Fairvlew on
the Old Stage road, the home of its
president. Dr. E. G. Rlddeil. who
with Mrs. Riddell and Dr. and Mrs
Sanders waa host and hos.ess for the
occasion. Big steaks were brollec over
an out-door fire and a wonderful
dinner served under the trees ol
beautiful Fairvlew.
Later the group retired to Dr. Rld
dell's billiard room m the basement
where the meeting was held. Dr.
Charles P. Johnson, as a new mem
bei was welcomed Into the organi
zation. Included in the program waa
a paper by Dr. B. L. Laeson on
"Diseases, the Early Symptoms of
Which Appear Early or the First

Five Medford men returned yester
day from Los Angeles where th?y
were called by federal subpoense to
appear as witnesses in the trial of
John Fischer, formerly owner of the
Swiss Creamery here. Fischer was i
charged with making false affidavit I
as to place of citizenship In taking
out naturalization papers. j
In his affidavit Fischer claimed j
Los Angeles as his place of residence j
for the past five years. He was in
Medford from 1929 until 1333.
Fisdher pleaded guilty to the
charge, but as yet has not been sen
tenced. He. as a native of Swltzer-
