Weidman, educational coordinator for Medford CCC district, left last night by train enroute to Ogden, Utah. Henselnum Returns George Hen selman returned from a business trip to Portland today, having been away' from Medford since Friday, Drive to Medford Mr. and Mrs. Q. H. Yeo and Mrs. A. R. Gregory, botn of Ashland, enjoyed a drive to Med ford and down the valley Sunday. Ashland Tidings. ' Madison Visits Frank B. Madison, prominent San Francisco attorney, has been spending a few days at his summer home on Rogue river. He left last ni$ht by train for the bay city. Plan Rummage Sale Plans are be ing completed by the W. C. T. U. for a rummage sale on Friday and Saturday at 225 East Main Street. Cooked food will also be on sale by the W. C. T. U. on Saturday. Baby Clinic scheduled The Month ly Baby Clinic will be held Thurs day. May 2. at the Sparrow Memorial Clinic, 1:30 to 4:00 o'clock. Those planning to attend are requested to call 1359 for appointment. Radio Catches Fire The fire de partment was called to Haven and Oak streets at 3:10 last night, when a radio in the home of W. W. Wil liams caught fire. The radio wsa slightly damaged. Elliotts In Dime storm The Med ford fire department received a wire today from Fire Chief Roy Elliott stating that he and Mrs. Elliott, who are enroute east by motor, have been held up by a dust storm at Colby, Kan. Miss palmer Has Visitors The Ash land Tidings states that Miss Beatrice Palmer, student at the normal, en tertained the Misses Lucille Bold, Ina Johnson, and Edna Goheen at her country home near Medford over the week-end. Mrs. Flchtner Returns Mrs. Carl Fichtner returned this morning by train from Yakima. Wash., where she had been visiting for the past ten days with her sister, Mrs. H. W. Nel son, and her mother, Mrs. E. E. Kingsley. Mr. Ruhl Leaves A. 3. Ruhl, of Rock ford, 111., left by train last night for his home, by way of Portland and Seattle, after a week's visit In th;s city with his son Robert W. Ruhl, and family. He spent the winter In southern California before coming to Medford. Services Tonight The pastor, Rev S. N. Long, announces that evangel istic services will begin tonight at the Free Methodist church. Tenth and Ivy streets, with Rev. J. R Stewart of Salem as the evangelist Reverend Stewart is a good preacher presenting the gospel in a clear and forceful manner. Services will be held each evening of this week excep Saturday. To Bowling Tournament Oeorgc Eids and Roy Pruiu. accompanied by Mrs. Pruiu. left this morning by motor for Taeoma. where the two men wit! enter the Korlhwest bowling tournament being held there. They will return the forepart -of next week. Attend Telephone Meeting Mis Myrtle Otterdaie and Miss Clanta Bernert, chief operators for the Home Telephone company, and E. P. Shit ley, and John Ralston, managers of the mechanical department, left last night by train for Portland to at tend a meeting of telephone com pany representatives. Glese Earns Promotion Jay Gtase, employe of the Standard Oil company here for the past five year, Saturday received an appointment as plant manager in change of area sale t Lakeview, and will take up hia new duties in a short time. The new posi tion is a fine promotion, in that Giese will have entire charge of a four man plant. Crater Aerie to Elect Members of the Crater Lake Aerie No. 2093 are reminded that elections of officrs will tak place at next Friday's meet ing. Officials of the order confi dently expect one of the largest turn outs the organization has aeen In years. Initiation of candidates will also take place at the meeting on Friday. Geography Class To Meet The emergency education class in inter pretive geography meets tonight at 7:15. room 4, at the .senior high school. The American Indian, h's arts, skills, implements, and modes of life are the special theme of stuay for the rest of the term. Map drill will be on the United States. Visitors are welcome. Visits at Ashland The Ashland Tldirurs states that Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Stevens have spent the past few days in Ashland with Mr. and Mrs. J. Stevens, parents of Mr. Stevens. Mr. Stevens, who has held a gocd position with Montgomery and Ward in Portland for the past two years, has been given management of the Firestone Tire company branch at Medford, taking over his new posi tion lost week. Is being razed. The olo barn has been ordered torn down by its present owner, William Wright, cecause he Is convinced it Is unsafe. It was built by H. D. Watson, pioneer advocate of alfalfa to con vince Nebrapkans that alfalfa had high foal value for livestock. Dimensions of the structure were 300 feet long,- 100 feet wide, and 88 feet high It was located on the old "1733" ranch.
