Sleeter. who has starred In many .tournaments on the Rogu Valley course, carded the third best score in a sextet of yearling quali fiers in a recent match at the uni versity. He toured the course In 160 for 36 holes, nine strokes better than the best varsity qualifying mark, ac cording to the Journal. Injured on Way to Mother-John Knowlton, 16. of Minnesota, was In jured Friday while riding on fright train enroute to this city to Tialt his mother, who Is reputed to be a resident of Medford, according to a Eugene dispatch. The boy banged his foot on a yard signal light as the train sped by. and the Injury beoame so painful by the time he arrived at Cottage Drove that he left the train and applied for help. He was taken to Eugene, the foot X-rayed, but no bones found broken. He was put In a federal transient camp.
