ceived here today, and says that
In the event t he Masked Marvel
makes a proposed trip north, he may
be willing to play an exhibition
match In Medford. The letter reads:

"I know you will be interested in
learning that on & visit to a golf
coun-e here in Santa Monica I had
an opportunity to 'meet' the Mailed
Marvel, who is becoming quite a sen
sation in southern California. Be
cause of the black mask that he
wears of course I could not tell who
he is, but after watching him play
I assure you that he is no ordinary
golfer. He .is surprisingly clever in
using a single club for an entire
match, which he specializes in doing
"I learned that he is contemplat
ing a trip north, and that If an op
ponent is arranged to meet him he
may be willing to play an exhibition
match In Medford. He said he win
probably be tn northern California
sometime in May, and X suggest that
an effort be made to get in touch
with him at that time.

DELAYED BY CCC
The opening of the Eiks-CCC fight
series, tentatively scheduled for April
18, has been postponed because of
the re -enrollment of CCC men and
the movement of camps.
Capt. William C. Ryan, district
athletic officer who has had charge
of the fight cards, announced today
that the contemplated series will not
get started this week as originally
planned. The series will end with a
big outdoors card and picnic in June.
As soon ss the present unsettled
condition is over, the aeries wii! be
started. A number of outstanding 3-C
fighters have signified the.r inten
tion of battling for new district
honors.
