S Redden of 1016 Reddy avenue is a patient at the Community hospital, having underwent an operation there this morning. OFF COAST BLUFF GRANTS PASS. March 32. (Spl.) A snow plow operating on the Cali fornia side of the Elk Creek divide. Redwood highway, was lost over the bluff Wednesday and as result one way traffic was passing the summit early today, according to James Brom ley, Oregon highway maintenance en gineer here. Thusiday morning. A pilot car was being used by the California highway authorities to convoy motorists over the summit, which has a foot and a half oa now today, Bromley said. Later two-way traffic was resumed. The accident to the California plow occurred Wednesday about noon, Bromley said, and the machine Is expected to be a total loss. It driver saved himself, but the place where the plow lodged In the snow has not yet been located, It was said. Another plow 1b being brought up from Redding. He said the state plow In the Illinois valley was only a feW miles from the California line when the accident occurred, but the snow had broken the telephone lines and the California highway crew could not reach htm to ask for the machine. ELKS AND FAMILIES DINE, DANCE TONIGHT Members of Medford Elks lodge and their families will be treated to a de licious covered dish dinner at the temple tonight, served at 6:30 o'clock. Lodge members will be asked 75 cents and that admission fee Includes the entire family. The menue will be Virginia baked ham or baked salmon, scalloped po tatoes, combination vegetable salad. Bengtson, secretary of the Southern Oregon Bar association, an nounced that election of officers of the association will be held at the next regular meeting, a meeting hav ing been held for routine business last night at Hotel Del Rogue at Grants Pass.
