"Living On Velvet," which opened
at the Rialto theater yesterday for
the first time locally. Is a smashing
drnma with an unique twist on the
eternal love trinnRle.
An unusual angle In the romance
lies tn the fact that two men.
friends, each' tries to give up the
girl they both love, in order that
the other may be happy with her.
Kay Francis, In the stellar role,
Blves onfl of the finest characterisa

society girl torn between her af

Infatuation for the other.
Miss Francis Is always beautiful
and stunning on the screen, but
her part In this picture calls for
exceptional talent in dramatic and
emotional acting. She partraya her
role with such intense feeling and
sincerity that she won the complete
sympathy of the audiences.
The star has two lesdtng men in
the production. Warren William and
George Brent, the former a veritable
C.braltar of stability, and the other
a likable, though daredevil aviator,
who has lost all sense of propor
tion through a terrific airplane
