P The Klftmath Ic and Cold Storage company, Andy Collier, owner and manngrr, started work thla week on a $20,000 Improvement to their frutt precoollnff plant, which will raise their box-capacity Irom 45,000 to 125.000 boxes, according to M. M. Morris. manager of the Medford Ice and Cold Storage company, who re turned yesterday from Klamath Fall. The new unit, two buildings of two stories each, will be equipped with the most modern of precoollng machinery, the same kind that la used In the Medford plant, and the last word In conveying equipment. The plant will be used exclusively for the overflow of Medford fruit. The fctorace-ln-tranalt system will be used. Involving a three cent per box charge, the same charge as for stor age In Portland and Ban Francisco, but with the advantage that local frultment can Inspect their fruit at any time after only a two hour drive to Klamath Falls. L. R. Graves of Spokane, the same engineer who has charge of the huge new precoollng unit now being in stalled at the Medford Ice and Cold Storage company here has been named as engineer of the Klamath project. ALBINO BIRDS ARE SEEN IN VALLEY GRANTS PASS. March lfl. (Spl.) Perhaps the birds and squirrels of the Rogue river valley are cleaning up thla spring. At any rate a num ber of them white In color have been seen at widely separated points. First the Forbes w, Fosbery family caw a whtto robin at their farm west of Grants Pass. Then. Wednesday, Tom Gnffney of the Frurtdalo dis trict reported that a white robin has boon at his farm for about a month. Oaffney added to the list by de claring a white hawk of the "diver" family was at his place for two days. Jie watched It dart from a tree, grasp a feeding robin, then eat the robin on Its tree perch. The hawk was a little larger than a pigeon. A pure white squirrel was seen on Blrdscyo creek recently by C. M. Mal colm, game warden of the state po lice. The little animal la of the grey squirrel family, Malcoim said, and residents along the creek said It had been in the vicinity for six years. To represent that district In the Ash land chamber of commerce, Harry Weagant has been appointed by the Talent grunge, and will attend all board meetings as a non-voting mem ber. The local chamber approved a plan two weeks ago whereby the Talent grunge. Talent chamber of com merce, and the Bellvlcw district would bo represented In the Ashland deliberations. The other representa tives have not yet been selected.
