Report to Governor Shows 160 Cases Handled by County Committee Ob tain Loans, Scaledowns Jackson county termers reoe'.ved. substantial benefit from the opera tion of the Oregon farm debt ad justment wort, according to the an nual report for 1934, juat filed with Governor Martin by O. M. Plummer, Portland, chairman, and L. R. Brelt haupt, Oreon State college, secretary of the Oregon agricultural advlaory council. The report showe that the various county committee or the Individual membera handled between 1800 nd 3000 debt adjustment cases In the past year. Of this total. 160 cases were definitely reported from Jack son county, resulting in 114 adjust ments. 40 failures and six still pend ing at the time the report was made. Influence Kelt. F BADLY DELAYED Farm and orchard work la still held In check by the weather, according to County ARent Robert O. Fowler, and a period of warm daya to dry the soaked soil would be welcomed. Sraylng Is Impeded In the orchards and planting of spring grain delayed. "There Is a lot oi spring wheat to be sown." according to Fowler, "and therela not any too much time In which to do It." It Is estimated that the season Is two weeks behind last year. Last fall the farmers were un able to sow their wheat because of dryness and this spring they have been held up by the wetness.
