morning taken from Bulletin No. 2,
published by the Federal Housing
Administration.

The above items are given as ex
amples of the- type of equipment
which, under the regulations, become
"a part of the real estate when in
stalled." Ther may be other equip
ment of like characteristics, which,
if it becomes a part of the property
when installed, likewise may be in

equipment which, under the regula
tions aro "movable" and therefore
may NOT be included in improve
ments financed by insured loans:
Furniture, unless built-in.
Floor and other lamps.
Show cases, unless bullt-ln.
Desks.
Radios, unless built-in.
Porch swings.
Electric fans unless built-in.
Toasters.
Washing machines.
Electric and gaa irons.
Ranges and stoves gas, electric,
coal or wood, unless bullt-ln.
Food mixing machines.
Vacuum and other types of clean
ers, unless bullt-lnstallatlon.
Individual detachable gaa and
electric heaters.
Single-unit air conditioner, unless
built-in.
All other strictly detachable and
movable equipment and apparatus.
"In the past 21 months the na
tional government baa spent 10,
000,000 for relief In Oregon and we
have helped ourselves by contributing
$139,000. We rank among the very
lowest among the states In helping
ourselves."
"The situation got to such a pass
that I wu served notice the other
day by long distance phone that the
government would cease any further
appropriation March 1 untese we did
'something to help ourselves."

Letter Quoted.
Word of the threatened recall waa
given -the newspapermen by the
executive after he had Issued a state
ment relative to the state relief
situation in which he pointed out
what the legislature and he were
doing to provide relief. "Despite this
showing, I received this letter today
froz. Pendleton," he announced, and
then read It as follows:
"We stand one hundred per cent
against your relief program as out
lined and Senator Wagon's old age
pension bill. Old people are not
looking for dole or charity. Nor are
we ready to accept blood money
from our state saloons.
"Should those bills be passed and
you refuse to memorialize congress
to pass the McGroarty bill, we
stand ready to take the field in
Umatilla county and elsewhere in
the state for a recall measure for
each and everyone who supports
such legislation.
"We work for those who work for
us.
"The Umatilla County Townsend
Old Age Pension clubs, membership
12,000. B. E. Ander&on, president, by
Frank W. Evans, secretary."
Relief Action Cited.
Preliminary to the statement on
the recall, the governor declared:
