Leaping Leo Ohelardl proved to be
the outstanding defensive man on
the floor, stopping many Phoenix

Pete Montgomery, Phoenix star,
was removed from the game late In
the fourth quarter with a badly
wrenched ankle.

E OF TIGERS
IN ASHLAND TILI
With only one more day of waiting
before the final game of the year for
the Medford Tigers, they are resting
today In their lair, preening their
claws In anticipation of their struggle
with the Ashland Grizzly In Ashland
tomorrow night.
After having already lost any
chance of attending the state tourna
ment, the Medford squad Intends to
do ltn best against the Llthlans and
give them a "going away party."
The fact that the floor la much
smaller than the one here will be a
definite handicap to the Burghermels
ters, but they refuse to be down
hearted over the prospects.
If the locals play the brand of
they are capable of playing
when they are "on." and If the Llth
lans play the aame brand that they
did when the two teams met last
week, a Medford win Is not out of
the question. Most of Ashland's
scores came from long shots from
well out on the floor, and the Tigers
have been drilling hard on a defense
for such shot.
With Smith's bad hip still trou
bling him, he will not start the game.
In his place will be Campbell, who
has been raging through the practice
tilts this week like a veteran, per
forming pertlcularly well under the
net. Paired with Campbell will be
Luman, who has proved a bulwark
on defense and a demon on offense
since he stepped Into the picture at
mld-year. Luman Is a steady and
calm player and possesses a wicked
eye on free throws, always an advan
tage to a team.
At center will be the lanky
"Stretch" Ettenger, who consistently
takes the tlpoff from all opposition,
and who played the game of his life
against Ashland last week. He de
clares he will surpass his own efforts
tomorrow.
The two guards will be Sears and
Kunzman. Both are ball hawks.
Sears haa been working nicely at the
guard position, after a transfer from
forward, leaping like a cat to take
Ettenger's tlpoffs. Fast on his feet,
and fast under the basket. Sears will
be a monkey wrench In the Llthla
machinery. Kunzman, who haa play
ed almost eevery minute ctf every game,
got moat of his off-form maladies
worked off in the first Klamath game
and has been playing sterling ball.
Reports from the Ashland head
quarters still Indicate that they are
not -cocKy," but private reports con
tinue to filter through that they
really Intend to breeze through the
game without mussing their hair. A
huge delegation from this city plane
to Journey south to watch what they
hope will be an upset.

Query for Dog Poisoner
To the Editor:
I would like to ask the poisoners
of pets a question. Did you ever
have the opportunity to observe the
results of your, perhaps, thoughtless
acta when you exterminate some
one's pete by the poison route?
Perhaps not, as the afflicted animals
usxially return to their young owners
who suffer such agony of mind and
spirit that they usually lose faith to
some extent in mankind.
If your stage of development still
permits you to commit such wanton
acta, won't you please be human
enough to give our pet an Instanta
neous, painless death.
Mrs. Evans dog was not the only
animal poisoned In that part of town
last week.
Again I ask, "Why do you use such
unspeakable methods?' There wilt be
no answer as, naturally, you can't
come out In the open and talk It
over. INQUIRER.
