Johnston, local shoe re pairman. Last year the first lambs tongues were brought to Mr. Johnston's shop February 13, and the previous year February 17. Sams Valley Is a natural garden for the spring flowers, the earliest ones generally appearing there. Home Economics club of Phoenix Grange will moot at the home of Mra, Dave Walker on Wednesday for an all-day meeting with covered dish dinner at noon. All members of the elub and ladles of the grange who are not mom hers, are urged to be present. Neighbors of Woodcraft Oak Circle No. 243 will meet In regular ses sion Thursday night, A card party will be conducted at the close of the meeting, sponsored by the Ways end Moans committee. Any one in the community desiring to play cards le urged to be present and a small charge will be made which will in clude refreshments. THE GRANGE Live Oak Grange Live Oak Grange met In regular session Feb. 18. Eleven officers were present with an attendance of twen ty five members. Master Perry Walt waa In the chair. The office of steward was declared vacant by absence, John Flemmlng and Lawrence Jonea receiving the nominations. Lawrence Jonea waa elected and Installed as steward. Mrs. Letsy Miller, home economics committee chairman, reported that on Feb. 14 the ladlea of the Grange met at the home of Mra. Frank Greenwood to sew and make further plana for a Spring Festival early In March. The ladlea organized a home economics club, with Mrs. Miller aa chairman; Mra. Nora Walt, secretary, and Mrs, Lulu Plank, treasurer. The men folk spent the day cutting a goodly supply of wood for the hall, which Mr. Greenwood kindly donated to the Grange. The lecture hour waa In charge of the home economics committee. A very enjoyable as well aa profitable program was rendered. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the comic antlea of the Kitchen Klangera Band and the music brought roars of laughter from the audience. Bachelor members of the Grange were on the refreshment committee and they outdid themselves to make good. Someone complained that they put water In the coffee, while Mas ter Walt found that a beautiful lem on pie waa partly spoiled through a mistake on the part of the baker, who being out of cocoanut decided that absorbent cotton would be Just as good. On Feb. 38 the H. I. O. club will again meet at the Orrenwood home to sew for the coming fair. The men will also out wood for the stove at the hall. Officers of the Orange are to begin In earnest to learn the floor and rit ualistic work under the direction of A. L. Cutter, who haa been appoint ed to the offl.-e of drill master.
