Daughters of Nile Confer Degrees in Ashland Ceremonial On Tuesday afternon Ashland Ma sonic Temple was the scene of one of the most beautiful ceremonials ever given by Zulelma Temple, Daughters of the Nile. The hall was decorated with oriental rtiga, floor lamps and draperies, candlebra with lighted ta pers and baaketa of lovely spring flower. Several candidate received the de gree with impreslve ceremonies. They were from Klamath Falls, Medfori and Ashland. Following the cere monial. Miss Dorothy Reynolds en tertained with her students from Ash land high scnool, with numbers by the girls' sextette and the boys trio, j At 13:30 a delicious lunch was served In the dining room of the temple, with 00 members and visitors seated at tables decorated with sweet peas and other spring flowers. Mr and Mrs. W. H. Day of Ashland, fol lowing their usual custom, contrlbut ed a large box of chocolates for the luncheon. This Is the last ceremonial of tne year (or Mrs. T. P. Parent'Teachers Set Friday For Special Program Friday of this week, February 8, has been set aside by Junior high P.-T A. for the celebration of Founders' day. A short business meeting will be held at 3 o'clock, to be followed by a lovely program, especially ap propriate for the occasion. Founders' day commemorates the anniversary of the founding of the national congress of Parents and Teachers In Washington, D. C, Feb ruary 17, 1897. Two groups of Junior high school students will participate In the pror gram. A beautifully decorated birth day cake will be out and the first two presidents of the association will pour. A silver birthday offering U made each year on Founders' day, for the extension of congress work. The field service has been almost wholly fi nanced from this source. Miss Boxane Ruhl. daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert W. Ruhl, la spending the week-end in Medford before returning south to sail from San Francisco next Tues day for Honolulu. She will accom pany Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Carpenter who hive been in California for the last several days. Mlsa Ruhl and the Carpenters plan to spend several weeks In the Islands, returning the latter part of Febru ary or the first of March. Convention Honoring the 64th birthday of Christian Endeavor. 160 young peo ple of Jackson and Josephine coun ties gathered at the First Christian church Friday evening for a covered dish dinner. Dr. Walter L. Myers. field secretary of Oregon Christian Endeavor, was toast master and main speaker for the evening. The Medford Christian Interme diate society was honor guest as a result of winning the attendance contest between December 16 and January 37. The Ashland Congrega tional won second place ana tne Butte Falls Presbyterian society third place; Mynola Oosnell of the Aahiana Christian society and Joe Bowdoln of the Rogue River Christian church qave booster talks on the State Christian Endeavor convention to be held in The Dallea April 36 to 38 Inclusive. Dr. Myers plans to be In Southern Oregon until the 10th of February and during his stay he hopes to meet with all Christian Endeavor societies of Crater Lake union and talk over their problems with them. Dr. Myers' present schedule: On February 3 he will be at Med ford Presbyterian church for Sunday school, deliver an address for church service in Central Point at 11 o'clck, meet with the Butte Falls Presby terian group In the afternoon, and preach In the Medford Christian church in the evening. On February 4 he is to be in Phoenix and the 5th he Is to be In Grants Pass. February 6, he will meet with the Glendale society and on the 7th he will meet with the offi cers of Crater Lake union at 7:30 in the First Christian church In Medford. Friday he will meet with the Central Point societies antt Satur day he will meet with the Rogue River young people. Lincoln Service Club Has Interesting .Meeting An Interesting meeting was held by the Lincoln Service club. Friday after noon. February 1, at Lincoln school A delightful and entertaining pro gram was presented for the enjoy ment of those present. The Lincoln Glee club gave two numbers. "If I Were You" and "Caraway and Cheese." A plono solo by Kenneth Raymond and an accordion solo by Barbara Bostwlck were heartily ap plauded. After the program 1 count on the mothers present was made. Mrs. Rus sell's roll room, the 6-A's receiving the prlre for the most mothers at tending.
