The school children enjoyed a Christmas gift ex change Friday afternoon and in the ' evening the community gathered at the school house to enjoy the follow ing program: Song, by the girls and boys, "Oh. Little Town of Bethlehem"; recita tion, "Christmas Dolly." by Nedra Schulz: recitation. "Learning a Piece," by Ernest Sanderson; recitation, Ruby Schulz; song by the boys and girls, "Star of the East"; recitation, "A Let ter to Santa Claus;." Tommy Mulhol .. len: piano, duet. School Pupils llae Interesting Party. ROGUE RIVER. Dec. 26. (SpU On Wednesday nljht. December 19, the seventh and eighth grade pupils and their teacher. Mr. Roberts, en Joyed their Christmas party at the school house dining room. At 7:00 o'clock games were played, such as checkers, lotto, dominoes and table tennis. Later a short play was given by four of the girls entitled "Man Prom Nowhere." At 9:00 o'clock re freshments were served and gifts from a beautiful Christmas tree were passed out. also stockings of candy and nuts. Mrs. Combs. Mrs. Roberts and Boyd Roberts were visitors. Job's Daughters' Pnncc Is Thursday. Miss Virginia English Is chairman of the invitations committee for the formal dance to be given Thursday evening at the Masonic hall. Mem bers of the group who wish Invita tions are requested to get in touch with Miss English. This Is the first big social event of' the club since the Installation of officers about 10 days ago. AUons Club To Meet Saturday. The Allons club will meet for dinner and bridge Saturday evening at the home of Mrs. Timothy Dally at her home, the Hlllcrest orchard. Assisting Mrs. Dally will be Mrs. Ed ward Leach. Mrs. Rowland Smith and Mrs. George Codding. The no-host dinner Is to be served at 7:30 o'clock, to be followed by 10 tables of bridge. C. A. R. to Have Tree at Betty Vllm's Children of the American Revolu tion will be guests of Miss Betty Vllm at her home, 203 Genesee street, to morrow afternoon Tor a Christmas party. (AP) A huge ball of fire which left a long trail of smoke in its wake, and de scribed by witnesses as a meteor streaked across the sky south and east of Pittsburg at noon today. L ON FEHLS FUNDS Circuit Judge Arlie G. Walker of McMinnvllle has been assigned by! the state supreme court to hear the interpleader in the 'suit of Nleder meyer. Inc.. against the Pacific Rec ord Herald and E. H. Fehl and Electa A. Fehl, for determination of the claims of FWil's creditors, for distri bution of the judgment awarded the Fehls against Niedermeyer. Inc. The Judgment amounts to about 60db. Judge Walker is scheduled to be here tomorrow to hear the case. Judge H. D. Norton was disqualified when Fehl filed an affidavit of prejudice. JxiSe B. L. Eddy of Douglas county was assigned by the court and. as his term of office expires January l. Judge Walker was assigned. Further tims in the hearing of the case is sought by Fehl in an affidavit of his attorney, -George R. Rhoten of Salem, served upon attorneys In the case. The affidavit avers that no answer In the interpleader can be prepared until Fshl is released from prison. The affidavit Intimates this will be shortly. The purpose of the hearing Is to determine to whom Niedermeyer, Inc.. shall pay the Judgment and for a determination of the various claim ants. Jackson county claims that It has first right on the Judgment "tor the cost bill of Fehls trial in Klamath county, amounting to $5400, and for $1100 for taxes owned by the Fehls.
