government Inspection, work in con
nection with the shipment of turkeys
by the Southern Oregon Turkey as
sociation. Cornutt had been in this
city two days.

spend the holidays with her parent,

In a last minute appeal to the
people of Medford and vicinity, the
Medford fire department is asking
that their present supply of old
and discarded toys be replenished.
From present Indications the annual
drive to procure these articles lor
renovation will fall far short of the
mark set for this year.
In co-operation with the Ladv
Lions, the local firemen are gather
ing up all the unwanted and used
children's playthings In and around
the city of Medford. These articles
are repaired and painted by the city
Firemen and distributed to the less
fortunate youngsters whose parents
are not able to afford the little
things that bring Joy to the hearts
of the kiddles.
The Lady Llona club, telephone
834-Y. are handling the distribution
and collection of the toys and play
things. For the convenience of any
one having these articles, who dees
not want to keep them, call the
Medford fire department at 849. or
the Lady Lions club, and they will
be Immediately picked up.

A result wherein a plaintiff in a
civil action "loses when she wins"
has arisen In the damage action of
Ruby Knight against Charles Dodson
and wife, according to Attorney Gus
Newbury. A rerdict giving Mrs.
Knight 50 from Mrs. Dodson was
returned by a JacksDn county Jury
last month. No award waa returned
against Dodson.
Mrs. Knight was granted Judgment
against Mrs. Dodson for 931, making
the total $81. Judgment was ren
dered against Mrs. Knight, In favor
of. Dodson, for 6160. The two Judg
ments, for and against, leave Mrs.
Knight loser In the case by $79,
Mrs. Knight sued the Dodson's for
2500. alleged damages, as the result
of a neighborhood fuss last summer
in which a child was slapped. The
litigants live on Beatty street, this
city.

District Attorney George A. Cod
ding left last night for Portland to
attend the annual meeting of the
district attorneys of Oregon. He will
Introduce a resolution calling upon
the next session of the legislature to
restore to .the Oregon Criminal Syn
dicalism law the portion eliminated.
The resolution holds that In Us prest
ent form the criminal syndicalism
law "is Inadequate to curb the activi
ties of organisations and agitators
seeking to overthrow the American
government by force.
The resolution combats the efforts
of upstAte organizations to have the
criminal syndicalism law repealed.
