F. Risley. 73. prominent democrat
and a native of Oregon, died at his
home here yesterday. He had been III

terpretative georgraphy class which
meets Thursday evening at the Sen'
lor high school, will be shown a serlss
of pictures through the reflectoscope,
which are original watercolors of tne
country near Anlakchack volcano In
Alaska. The pictures are entitled "A
Whole World Within a Crater," and as
the classes are free, the public la in
vited to view them. The closs will
meet at 7:15 p. m. In room 9.
Wiring Return Mr, and Mrs. H. E.
Wlrth of this city have returned from
a trip to California, where they have
been visiting friends and studying the
conditions of the state. They visited
Oakland, San Francisco. Palo Alto
and Fresno. Mr. Wlrth observed that
general conditions In California have
Improved, and that this winter there
will be more people on relief rolls per
capita than Oregon. Californlans have
their eyes on Oregon, their new gov
ernor and the new deal, Mr. Wlrth
stated, and they are wondering how
the combination will work out. "Al
though Impressed with the Idea that
Martin was elected governor," Mr.
Wlrth said, "California had to elect
a man they didn't want In order to
defeat Sinclair."

court yesterday, the damage suit of
Catherine Morgan against Homer
Ryan, Luke Ryan and Mrs. Luke Ry

to either litigant.
The damage suit was based upon
an auto accident that occurred on.
the Sams Valley road, a year ago. In :
which an auto which Homer Ryan

lided. Negligence and reckless driv
