which had not lost a game since the
opening of the City Bowling league
schedule, took It on the chin Friday
night ln their match with Adrlenne's
Shoe Department at the Smoke Hottt
alleys. The shoemen took the second
and third games of the match by
sizeable margins. Murray of the typos
grabbed the evening's honors for both
single game, 325, and match total,
672. Carey led the heavy firing for
Adrlenne's with a high game of 218
and total of 570.

BASKETBALL CLASSES
Girls' Community club will organ
ize basketball classes this evening at
the girls' gymnasium in the senior
high school, it waa announced today.
It was pointed out by those ln charge
that if a sufficient number sign up
for the classes, two groups will be
organized, one for the younger glrlf.

turkeys In the Portland market, with
practically a record demand from
California for supplies.
Up -to 21 cents a pound Is belne
freely offered for both toms a,nd hens
for carload shipment to the south.
While the demand wis extremely
heavy, there waa a very liberal kilt
ing reported throughout this sector
and arrivals are of size. .
While hens and toms were today
being quoted at the same price by
buyers, suggestion was made that ow
ing to the extreme weights of the
torn- most of them ranging above
18 pounds while the demand la not
above that weight as a rule. The
call was mostly for hen weighing
10 to 13 pounds each. For that rea-i
son there was a suggestion that dur-1
lng the next day or so the hens w,l!
command a premium of at least one
cent over the toms or large size.
Tomorrow Is the last day for car
load shipments of turkeys for the
Thanksgiving trade in California, al
though some truckloads will prob
ably move out Wednesday.
Turkey prices rangtd 16-21C for
dressed birds and 14-16c alive.
