It will be homecoming for Southern Ore gon Normal' alumni at Ashland next Saturday, but for Howard Hobeon and his much-defeated SONS football team. It will be a final desperate attempt to salvage at least one ma jor victory from a season that has been the most disastrous In Hobson's three years at the Institution. Winning but one game thla year, an unsatisfying 7-0 Tlctory over weak University of Oregon freshman team, the SONS will face their toughest opposition yet when Chlco Stat College, on of the strongest teams In the far western conference, comes to Ashland for the final gam for the SONS of th 1994 season. Led by a great triple threat man, Dlek Jenka, who la rated tba beat ball carrier In the far western con ference, the Callfornian will come to Ashland with a record that shows only on defeat out of five games played. Th SONS cam out oi the Monmouth gam with only one Injury of any consequence, ao win probably be In fair condition for their final homecoming game. The casualty of the Monmouth encounter waa little Billy Courtney, who pulled two small bones loose In hi shoulder and will be out for th rest of the season. Also, strengthening the SONS will be the return of Jay Adams to good condition. Adams saw but little ac tion against Monmouth due to a shoulder Injury. He burner of the squad.
