PAGE EIGHT TERS LEAVE HAUNTS OF DEER AS With the cIom of the dter hunting leuon lut night It waa revealed, be' aldea the fact that many Med fort huntera have taken aueceeiful ad van tag. of the aeaaon, that the cloaln? daya have been free from law ftreaK Inc. State police of the game dlvl alon warn aucceaaful huntera that hldea of their price mutt be tagged Quoting from the Oregon game code, state police atated today: "It ahall be unlawful at any time more than 10 daya after the close of the hunting aeaaon to have In one'a poa aeeslon any hide or hldea of deer or elk which aald hldea hare not Dean tagged with the tag or aeal of the game commission aa herein provided." Many duck huntera are still un aware of the fact that shooting mi gratory waterfowl la limited to Fri days, Saturdaya and Sundays only, and that the aeaaon la closed on In tervening days, according to officers. Duck huntera' are also warned that ahootlng la prohibited without pos sesion of the federal bird hunting stamp obtainable at the postofftce for $1. Although many huntera hava not yet returned from their final forays of the season, the list of those who have abot their bucka during the last few days showed a big Increaae over the number who made kills durin? the stormy middle period of the aea aon. Successful huntera Include: Dr. D W. Stone, who turned a bualneas call Into a last-minute deer-bagging trip yesterday afternoon, when he went to a Lake Creek farm to treat a alck horse, took his gun along and re turned to Medford the proud poa sessor of a four-point buck. Law rence E. Cuffel of 1610 West Main atreet was another fortunate last minute hunter, returning yesterday from the Big Butte country with two blacktall deer, one weighing 101 Va and the other 110 pounds. Cuffel shot both animals during the last afternoon of the season. Other hunters Include: Irwin Da ley, who shot a four-point animal In Grizzly canyon, returning yesterday with JTred Oodfrey; L, Charley, who ahot a 160-pound buck near Lake Creek on a two-day trip: Jack Deo nlson and John Wlnterhalter, who re turned from Dog Lake with one buck; Wm. Coy and Frank Dorden, who hunted unsucceasfully near Brown mountain; Al Stoehr, who had little luck on an eastern Oregon trip: 8. N. Hawk and H. L. Vandermark, who also bad no luck; Hugo Lange. who shot a 333' -pound mule deer; Scott Darby, who ahot one buck; Pete Tos can, who got a four-point mule deer near Lakevlew. 1 Beginning Nov. 1 SPECIAL CLASSES Comm. & fine art. Mlsa Couch launched a sharp at tack at Democratic atate and led- eral policies. Soon the women in the audience., U waa observed, had commenced to take notes. The president's wife waited until the Republican candidate finished and her turn came. Then ahe stood up. She began her reply by telling her audience that Mlsa Couch "like many Republican men . . . asks balanced budget but falls to tell us how she will balance It." "Would you atoo feeding ' the hungry? Would you stop helping the unemployed?" she asked. Mrs. Roosevelt went on to say she appreciated "the value of meet lnga auch aa these because they gave us a chance to hear various points of view no matter how much we may not agree with them." Some membera of the audience broke Into applause. 6AN FRANCISCO, Oct. 30. (AP) Climbing to a new peak price for this year, first grade butterfat sold at 3U'2 cents a pound here today. Till PLAIN OR IODIZED Former Tackle ouo Trainin "No con do, Son I Out of training" No CAN DO!" puffed Lester Orsite, Tal lyrand High's famous tackle of 1910. "Can't do, Son. Out of train ing. You'll have to get someone else to play football with you. I've taken it easy too long to get out in the field without damaging my vanity." That night he took one sip from hia cup. Caryl Orsite explained she'd tried a bargain counter brand of coffee "just for a change". . ."Can't drink it," decided Lester Orsite, and his wife admitted neither could she. "Caryl, we're out of training for these chang ing brands and flavors. We've had the unvarying, perfection of Hills Bros. Coffee too long for us to try unsatisfac tory coffees without dam aging our enjoyment. Let's get Hills Bros, again and stick to it." "let's get Hi Hi Bros.
