Harold la a pilot for the Hobl Airways of Eu gene. He has Just returned from a government timber mapping trip in the Chelan national forest In north ern Washington. This country la one of the most primitive sections in the United States, he stated. He piloted the plane while the camera man photographed one and one half million acrea of timber. It took twenty-five hours of flying time to accomplish the task. The Home Economics club will meet at the home of Mrs. Elton Waldron Friday, October 36, for an all day meeting. (Spl) Tha Applegate district will hava the first lookout In the Rogue River national forest to be equipped wltn radio for transmitting and receiving: messages. The house will be built this fall on Mt. Isabel at the head of Forest creek and Foot creek, Lee Port, district ranger for th Applegate, said. It Is probable that the Medford forestry headquarters will be equipped with a short wave set for communicating with Mt. Isabel, eliminating need for a tele phone line. Ranger Port said that lookouts In Washington and eastern Oregon are using radio with suc cess, providing the range of com munication does not exceed twenty miles.
