Famous Novel Now On Craterian Bill Lending vivid reality to the "down to earth" American characters of Oene Stratton-Porter's famous best seller, "A Girl of the Llmberlost" was received with enthusiastic re-! sponae at the Craterian theatre yes-1 terday where It opened a three day ; run. Being a faithful transcription of the Gene 8 1 rat ton -Porter original, 1 and preserving the full flavor of the mtd-western rural locale, the photo play serves to bring to life the char acters that have become known and loved by millions of readers. The story, as most everyone knows, desls with the efforts of pretty El nora. Comstock to gain an education against the determined opposition or her mother, who baa hated the child since her birth. Into the plot enters the two kind ly souls.i Wes and Margaret Stnton, and little Billy, the orphaned raga muffin, whom Elnora befriends. Then the efforts of "The Bird Woman" are enlisted In El nor as cause, and finally, with her high-schooling al most complete, cornea the love of Phillip Ammon, son of Dr. Ammon. Complications ensue with the arrival of Phillip's fiancee but with her de parture, and the mother's discovery that she has wronged her daughter all her life, comes the touching finale. It is a simple story, but beauti fully told. The leading roles, played to perfection, are taken by Marian Marsh as Elnora, the "girl of the llmberlost:" Louise Dresser, as her mother; RsJph Morgan and Helen Jerome Eddy as Wes and Margaret Slnton; Henry B. Walthall, aa Dr. Ammon, and Edward Nugent as his son, Phillip. Betty Blythe, former star of the silent era, has the role of "The Bird Woman." Fine Cast Appears In Rialto Picture "One More River." Diana Wynyard Is Lady Clare, mar ried to Blr Jerry Corven, but In love with Tony Croom. When the hus band discovers this fact, his at tempts to "shadow" his pretty wife, and discover evidence that could be used In a divorce court, form some amusing situations.
