There were no Indications of any steps to fill the vacated places. HYDE PARK. N. Y.. Sept. 11. (AP) President Roosevelt and Gen. Hugh 5. Johnson, NRA administrator agreed today upon the principles of sn Im mediate reorganization of NRA to eliminate overlapping functions and provide for simplifications of this vital recovery unit. Another night conference at the summer White House developed the agreement for establishment of the NRA on the same basts as the federal government with three separate branches executive, Judicial and legislative. Johnson Is going ahead as head of ! the executive branch and will con tinue the re -organization planning with the presiuent In conferences still to come. The Judicial branch of NRA will take care of labor disputes and also asaume the duties of the code au thorities. The legislative agency of NRA will be the policy fixing department. After laying down this ground work of principles for the temporary fu ture of NRA pending enactment of legislation, the president and John son put aside the mass of details for further study. Simplification Aim The immediate objective was to reach for simplification of the vast NRA machinery and to eliminate the great mass of overlapping functions. The president had an Imposing list of callers today. Including Postmaster General Farley. Governor Ely of Massachusetts, and Myron C. Taylor, chairman of the board of the United States Steel corporation. All were together at luncheon. J. C. One nf the Muses VOTER REGISTRY Saturday, October 8, Is final data for voters to register for the general election, November 9. and the county clerk's office today issued a call fori all legal voters to come forward and register on or before the final date, ; If they care to exercise their fran chise in the general election. The Oregon law provides the registration1 books shall be closed 30 days before the general election and no regis tration accepted thereafter. Any resident of a county who has not voted in a two-year period, Is eligible for a new registration. Re reg 1st rat ion la not required for those who voted at the last election. Checking of the registration hooks with the poll-books for the last elec tion, Is now under way toy the county clerk. A decline In registration figures Is forecast. In the 1933 general elec tion registration passed the 19,000 mark for this county. This was an abnormal number. Normal registra tion la between 13,500 and 14,000 names. Many of the 1032 registra tions were by transients and residents of nearby counties. Many of the lat ter class have transferred back to their home counties.
