Financed by a 68,000 appropria tion, the U. 8. Biological survey and FERA are launching a co-operative campaign to eradicate this little pest. If successful the campaign will mark the end of the prairie dog "towns" which dot the 383,000 acres In the project. The government plans to employ more than 300 men for three months In the Infested counties and will use 150.000 pounds of polson- The prairie dog la a small rodent, allied to marmonts and squirrels, us ually averaging a foot In length.
